You called her names and told her to kill herself? And you're proud of it? Oh yeah, you were definitely in the wrong and deserved that ban. And coupled with the impression you're other threads have given, I'd say it's probably time to reconsider that attitude of yours and grow up a little.

Not really the point I am making, which is why I removed the hideousness of the exchange. The point is, when a medium is just too unattractive for shallow-minded people to accept, why do they insist on pursuing it? I just don't understand why these people do so, other than to annoy people like myself. This can also be said for the feminists or SJWs that target the mainstream gaming media these days.

I'm 50/50 on this, for one Feminist is mostly a USA and EU things they really don't exist in other countries and to be perfectly honest the female population in Japan do seem to have as much power as men, there country is more put of there culture and things of the past like blood types. The reason we see blood types pop up in character profiles in games is because there was something in Japan that said certain blood types would act a certain way so its like short had for telling how a persons personality acts. As well Japan is more sexually open then we are here in the west they never came from a Protestant background like is but they still did have a time of sexual representation but now they are very open about sexuality and sexual themes.

On the other I do feel some things can be improved by it, some characters I would much rather be more interesting characters in anime other then "hey boobs!" or a person to just suck on a banana in the background. When I see a anime that is mostly just having the female character just in bras and panties screams to me that the writers and animators where so bankrupt for ideas of a story and interesting action that they just resorted to a titty show.

Well, if you find their opinions too shallow-minded to accept, why do you keep taking part of those opinions?

Because feminists are everywhere now. No matter how much I try to avert my eyes from their antics, I will see something that just rubs me wrong. And the worst part? Now I have to deal with this in the anime medium. I partly blame this on distributors like CR and Funi pushing towards a more mainstream audience, because that is what attracts feminists and SJWs.

This is the sort of generalization I absolutely despise. You cannot honestly assume an entire medium is what you describe due to a certain kind of pandering that is already frowned upon....IN the medium itself.

Gotta correct your wording. Anime isn't a medium. Animation is. "Anime" refers specifically to Japanese animation. (At least when we westerners use the term.)

So you threw the worst insults you could think of towards her without even trying to engage in a discussion first?

Why did she think it was sexist? And why did you disagree with her? Then you should have posted why you disagreed instead of insulting her.

If she proved to be unreasonable, well then you would have done everything you could and you wouldn't be banned from that forum right now.

I do admit that might have been somewhat irrational on my part, but I said I typically do not want to do anything with people like feminists. It's just this one instance today was the a rare one where I couldn't take it anymore.

"This is the sort of generalization I absolutely despise," he says while frothing at the mouth at the thought of his beloved anime being criticized. The hypocrisy is delicious. He doesn't realize. Somewhere, a feminist cackles. He wishes she would just kill herself, that shallow creature.

@Queen Michael

Well, "westerner," I'll just leave this here. Specifically refer to the first page that goes back and forth.

I don't know, anime is a medium by itself, it's not a single genre and it's unique enough to be apart of western animation.

About the topic, I kinda have to agree, despite that popular media tries to force us to let others insult our hobbies for them feeling superior I am getting sick of people not watching things and labeling them by tropes.

But if someone labels and entire type of gaming for "sexism" despite: A) not all Vn contain hentai. B) having plenty of VN's for females and C) some of them like fate has "clean" version and the hentai is more to boost sales. Them yes, fuck them.
Finally, a rational person. Yes, I agree with what you say: Western propaganda is a certain type of taint that has a sad influence on people. And with the way the poll is not quite one-sided yet, I am interested to see where this goes.

Eventually, I could not just sit idle and came out of nowhere and savagely insulted this person with the worst insults imaginable. Despite this, I am satisfied with telling this person off and reflecting on how feminists are ruining everything.

How do you feel about this? Was I in the wrong? I feel I did a great thing and it compelled to pose this question to others.
You know, I just now realized that you never deny that there is sexism in anime. So in other words, she said there was sexism in an anime. You don't deny that there indeed is sexism in it. Because she said this thing that you agree is correct, you called her the worst things you could come up with.

You call this "doing a great thing."

How am I supposed to respond to you when you consider it a "great thing" to hurl insults at somebody instead of doing some actual debating?

Furthermore, being able to analyze the gender roles in an anime instead of just looking at the hot girls and going "Yay, boobs!" isn't shallow. It's the complete opposite of shallow.

And you know what's funny? People complain about the Fight Against Sexism ruining their anime/manga/games/granola, but I've never heard anybody say "The reason I dislike this anime is because it's not being sexist."

Look I usually also try to stay out of these kinds of discussions and yet in the first post I made I didn't try to insult you. Although I will Admit that I originally concluded the first sentence with saying that I thought you were rightfully banned. But I thought that wasn't very nice to say and I would never be able to convince someone of my viewpoint using that kind of language. So just because you usually don't participate in these discussions is no excuse for your behavior.

Oh, and you'll have to give an actual definition of "feminism." Because right now, you're giving the impression that the only people you consider to be "feminists" are the most extreme ones. Kind of like saying only Westboro Baptist Church members are really Christians.

This quote proves to me you have no major involvement with the medium, in any shape or form, and are just tagging along to oppose me. I do not want any business with someone who does not know much of what I am trying to get at, sorry. No hard feelings, but I am not kidding around with this topic.

Maybe I just have to accept the fact that I am open-minded, mature, and patient enough to see any medium or genre for what it is worth. Most people are not like me, and I should probably not involve myself in the business of Western propaganda. It's a difficult road, but I am trying.
