I agree. FF has been a PS exclusive for a long time, probably due to Sony being Japanese. I don't want to give Xbox 360 fans any more of my beloved FF games. Except 12, you can have that pile of rubbish.
Square has been releasing all sorts of final fantasy titles for nintendo systems for a while now.

Nintendo is also Japanese. Plus, they were all awful.

So I, a long-standing fan of Final Fantasy, who has played every Final Fantasy game, excluding XI and the Crystal Chronicle series, am not entitled to the next installation because it should not be spread to other feasible systems. I love Final Fantasy. I used to go to my grand-mothers every weekend of my young childhood just to play Final Fantasy seven with my cousin, who was the only one of us at the time who owned anything more advanced than a Genesis. I'm not saying they should pander to my personal desires, but there are many, MANY, FF fans who have 360's. Many who don't own PS3's. That's a market. Should they deny themselves that market? Even when Sony apparently didn't pay to keep FF exclusive? Graphics? I don't care about fucking graphics. I still play FF VII, VI, V, IV, III, II and I on a semi-regular basis. Graphics mean nothing to me. I play FF for the story. For the feel. For the series that I've grown to love over the course of my life. I'm perfectly satisfied with Wii graphics as long as I get the game in some form.

So Final Fantasies I through VI, Tactics Advances, and T2 were awful? I admit Crystal Chronicles sucked, but that's just the tip of the iceberg there.

I'm quite clearly being ignorant here. ^^

I didn't play 1-6 and I don't like tactics games.

Just look at this game and tell me that the sheer effort it took to make the game multiplatform did not adversely affect the entire game beyond even the visuals which are simply the most immediately noticeable aspect that was affected. Once quality starts to be negatively affected people really ought to seriously question whether it is even worth doing the port in the first place. Valve could have saved itself a good deal of PS3 hate by simply deciding not to put the game out on the console at all rather than put out the shoddy farmed out port. I'm tired of ass ports to various platforms. I have a PS3, 360 and a decent PC, and these companies would be better off if they either figured out how to make good ports, or stuck to making games that do the best that they can on each platform.

No, the 360 version of XIII sucks already and Versus is going to be even more awesome so it can't handle it.

In all seriousness, its a PS3 exclusive and should stay that way.

You expect me to alter my opinion after hearing your story? Really?

If people really loved FF that much, why didn't they get the PS3?

Maybe Sony allowed Microsoft a concession because they felt sorry for them. That's what I'm going to think, anyway.

Ok. I voiced my opinion like you did. Honestly, I would have preferred no response over the generally accepted troll response of "cool story, bro." Microsoft was not given rights over FFXIII out of pity. Don't use fan-boy logic please and thank you. From waht I hear the 360 copy sold very well which the reason why SquareEnix worked with Microsoft. They knew it would profit well. Moreso, in fact, than they could profit from Sony paying for exclusivity. Now I'll state my opinion for this thread in a simpler form. I would like FF versus XIII for 360. If it doesn't come out, I don't particularly care because I have no current intent to buy a PS3.

It may be too late to convert it over to the 360, or maybe the game may not even be able to run on the 360 in its current form. However, if it is possible, I say why not? Let everyone enjoy the game, not just PS3 owners.

Release it for ps3 and then work on porting it to the 360. That way there are no delays and the 360 will eventually get its prize.

I have all the consoles of this generation, so it doesn't bother me. I'm a huge Sony fan, but only recently bought a PS3. The 360 has been my baby this generation, since I mostly play JRPGs and through some black magic, Microsoft secured most of them this time. The 360 is a great system and it does offer excellent graphics, there's no reason to not port.

I believe it had something to do with Sony being 9.3 Billion dollars in debt last year due to advertising. They sold out to microsoft because they didn't have any other choice at the time.

you think it should be multiplatform, or not?[/quote]
Ghostwise said:
Judging from the success of XIII they probably will release it on the 360 as well. I think they should remake Final Fantasy, the original with all kinds of new updated gameplay and next gen graphics. The originals story was lackluster at best so there's tons of wiggle room to do whatever the hell they want. Would be a smart move and would be a phenomenal success. However Squenix is run by a bunch of tightwad dicks in suits so I doubt any remake of anything will ever happen.
If they where just going to take the original and add a bunch of new stuff to the story and gameplay, why not just make a new game?

So, you want them to remake the first one but change the graphics, gameplay and storyline? Wouldn't that just be an entirely different game?
Meant more of a reboot than anything. :D
Yeah, but in a franchise that changes universe with every iteration, is there any point in rebooting?

I'd say they should. What's the point in only having one part of a game trilogy on one console? That's basically like just saying "OK, you've spent your money and your time on our game. Wanna play more? Go spend £200 on a PS3."

No.

Not because it's a PS3 exclusive but because they'd have to push back the release, gimp the game (which would make it worse on both consoles) and face the fury of people that treat their gaming a little too seriously.
