I know this thread seems a bit self centered, but I'm sure that anyone looking to buy a Playstation Portable could find this interesting.

Are they worth it? Do you have fun with yours (assuming you have one). I know each version (2000 and 3000) have different issues, but which one is better?

Also, (if you're in the yes group) what size memory card should I get, and what games are the best for it.

Thanks!

yea and the screen gets scratched really easily, so you gotta be careful with it. I learned that the hard way.

I know God of War and Ratchet and Clank would be fun, but those are the main one's I've seen that I'd like. I'm not into racing or turnbased games

I have a 1000, and as for the games I've purchased for it, it's alright. Not the greatest thing ever but kept me entertained for a long while. Modded it up with a pandora battery and added some SNES games and beefed it up with other uncondoned activities and I've really got tons of playing time off of it. Anyway, if you could get a 1000, I'd get that, otherwise, I guess the 3000 is probably better than the 2000.

The size of the 1000 is honestly not a big deal, it's hardly noticeable.

I regret buying mine. The system is good, just are you going to use it. Unless you take the bus or train to work/school or sit in a lot of waiting rooms, when/where would you use it?

That's what I'm worried about! I'm going on a few business trips, so the airport and hotels would be good places, but I don't know if that justifies $200 (w/ R&C) plus $30 for a memory card (4g on sale at Best Buy). And I can borrow games from my buddies if need be.

I don't mean to come off as offensive, but you're a horrible shopper if you're spending $30 on 4G of memory. I can get at least 8 gigs, more around 12-14 gigs for that price.

This is also all the more reason to get the 1000, you can probably find one online for $50.

It depends on if it has the games you're interested in or not.

These threads go one of two ways, either there's a huge influx of people bashing the PSP to a bloody pulp or there is an influx of people saying yes and listing some games you might be interested in.

Seriously, there is no middle ground, it is either one or the other.

But if you're into homebrew, I've been told taht the 1000 model is the best for that kind of stuff.

Dude, no offense taken if you can tell me where to get a PSP Memory Stick Duo for that price! That would be great!

I'm a little worried about buy used stuff off the net. I'm not old fashion, I just know my luck! :)

I was worried about that, but so far, everyone has been quite helpful, and the flaming has been to a minimum. People who don't like it have been very calm and rational so far.

I wouldn't recommend it, as there aren't enough good games for it to be a wise investment.
