If the choice is between the PS3 or the 360, just look at the current catalog of games and go with the one that has the most games you like. But a console for the games, don't just get a console and then see what games it has.
I agree, i personally prefer the 360 as i love games such as the Halo Series and GoW, Forza and PGR etc..

I say 360 because it has a wide range of popular games and it is easier to adapt to the controls and the online has less problems(that i heard of) then the ps3.But if u prefer the Ps3 exclusives and/or loves playin online but short on cash to pay for online, get the Ps3.But honestly,we cant truely help u with that.Try going to a friends place and play both ot play a couple of demos at the store, altho the demos wont give u a full feel of the system

Note:My Ps3 opinions are based on what ive seen and heard and the little of what I played on the Ps3.Like I said,it is all based on what u prefer, but I personaly like th360 better, thats why i got a 360 instead of the Ps3.

Assuming you like a challenge, Demon's Souls and a PS3 will last you a long time, as the replay value is incredible.

Online, if you're into that sort of thing, is also free.

I think you'll be happy with a Playstation, I sure as hell was.
Well, i've heard some iffy things about the Playstation online, and my internet isn't all that great out here. What do you think about the PS3 online compared to the Xbox live?
If your internet is iffy, you'll have equal trouble with both.

Personally, having used both online, your more likely to find a lot of people playing the game you are playing on XBL... but that comes with a drawback. When L4D got really popular last year, it kept booting my friends and I off the server. I think it was just too busy to handle us.

I'm not saying this to scare you away from the 360, more to say neither system is flawless.

My advice as always with these threads, is list the exclusives, tick off the ones you want, and the system with the most ticks wins.

Alot of games come out on both but most of the 360 exclusives are also brought out on PC
Gears of War, Halo etc end up being ported to PC (not sure on the quality of port)
PS3 esclusives are only seen on the console and the console also has alot of awesome exclusives.

My internet connection hasnt been great since I moved to ADSL2 (bad wiring in the house)
and I haven't had any issues with PS3 online with MW2, Demon Souls etc.

as was said before, just look at the exclusives and see which library you like more, both are pretty good and if I had the money I would probably havae both lol

I think the 360 is geared more toward online multiplayer, and has a better controller and lineup for FPS games, that's my two cents.

Also, why make a new thread to get opinions, I'm sure there is no major new feature on either of the consoles since any of the other 100 threads like this were made, just go read them.

Well what exactly have you heard about the PSN? Having been a pc gamer forever, I got a PS3 as my first console last summer and I'm really happy with it. I love how the PSN is free and, from my experience, works pretty well. I've played mostly Killzone 2, Little Big Planet and Modern Warfare 2 online and have only encountered minor problems. A few times I've been logged out randomly from the PSN for no reasons but I haven't had that happen in a long time and and I'm guessing its on my end. Either way, I wouldn't give up free multiplayer.

As a pc gamer, I went with the PS3 because of the choice of games. I am not really interested in the major xbox exclusives and the ones that might interest me are released on the pc. From my point of vu, I get the best of both worlds. Most of my game library is filled with exclusives, ranging from the Uncharted series, to Infamous, Little Big Planet and Heavy Rain.

Its up to you, the best advice you can receive is just to look at the games available on each platform and then make your choice.

I'm inclined to say PS3 just on the basis of personal preference, but I'd say your preferences match you more to the Xbox 360. Though, if you're looking for a more longer lasting platform, I'd recommend the PS3. For the online, you get to pay Microsoft to play, while Sony kinda thinks it complimentary for you, much like pillow in a motel. Then there's the base--Live is, well, lively, and excitable, while the PS3 is more solemn, and a bit more goal-focused (especially when you hear your mates talking about having to contact the mortgage company because the paycheck would arrive a few days late, but that the money was already posted as pending to their account while they drop lead into some guy's face). Game wise...most things are on both, so it just depends. Look into the exclusives, see which are your type, then go from there. But I'll still recommend the PS3.

Do yourself a favor and buy a PS3, the list of exclusive games is just better.

PS3. i have both and i use the PS3 more cos online play is free. don't have to sell your soul to XBOX LIVE. XBOX has better exclusives though so it all depends on your online needs.
Well, when you say better exclusives, what do you mean?
Because I do LOVE God of War, but I really don't ever plan on trying Heavy Rain, or playing R+C again.

But, really. Ps3 has Infamous, and a few other really great ones along side God of War. It's so hard to choose. :/
sorry mate, i was thinkin about Gears, Fable, Dead rising, Halo (i thought it was crap but loads of people like it). Ur very right about infamous. owning a PS3 and not having that game is a crime.

I was mainly a PC gamer. When the time came to get a new console, I realized that the 360 lineup is mostly available on the PC as well, whereas the PS3 exclusives are exactly that.

I bought a PS3, and I'm quite glad for it. I can keep playing Halo or Mass Effect or Gears of War on the PC, and all the juicy PS3 exclusives on the new console.

Buying a 360 when you already have a gaming rig is like buying another half-PC. Go for the PS3.

Although, I do suggest you explore both consoles' lineup of games, see which ones are available for the PC, and make your decision based on that.

Edit: Oh yeah, and PSN is miles ahead of X-Box Live. And free, too.

My girlfriend's internet sucks horribly, but the online play remains nice and smooth. I play online all the time at the apartment.

Playing online with the xbox360 is only 8 bucks a month.. Aprox 40 dollars a year. (Not sure how much it costs where you live mind you)

Both are great systems. Although I do hear a lot about xbox360's having a short life span, but I fear those people just left it on for a very long period of time.

Best bet would be to research which systems have games you'd most likely enjoy. The free online play is what did it for me... The xbox360 does support some free online stuff but you have to pay to play any games online.. If that's not a problem for you, then either system would be a worthy buy.

Edit: I've noticed you mentioning something about Heavy Rain in an earlier post... I just recently beat that game and I must say, it was more than worthy of my time.

Personaly I hate the controller on a PS3. I said the 360 for that reason alone. I find shooter very uncomfertable on it compared to those of the 360. PS3 does have some good exclusives though.

PS3 if you're already a PC gamer. Different games, and most stuff that's a 360 exclusive is actually a Microsoft "exclusive", so it'll appear on the PC as well.

Besides, LIVE costs - why people accept that they have to pay to play the other half of their game that they've already bought is beyond me, but there you go.

It's kind of what major games you want more.

The Halo games, Mass Effect games, Crackdown 1 and 2 and Prototype vs Resistance, Killzone, In Famous, and God of War, to name a few from each side. (Don't even get me started on LittleBigShit)
I would personally go for the 360 because of Halo and Mass Effect, but on the other hand I just recently bought my own PS3 and can't call it bad by any means.

EDIT: Oops, Prototype is on both. Sorry.
