So right now for the summer sale on PSN they have Killzone 3 multiplayer $10.99 I liked the beta but never bought any killzone game I like battlefield occasionally but am pretty worn out on Call Of Duty and haven't played that in awhile.
It looks like used it'll be about $18 for it.
So is this a good value?
Should I get it?

It's pretty good since the multiplayer also comes with ALL the dlc.

When I tried it, it was a ghost town. Very rarely would I get into a match with one other person, let alone the full complement. It might be different if you aren't in Australia (not sure if that was the problem, but it could be), but I'd recommend trying the demo first.

I play in Europe and never have a problem finding games.

That said, it is a pretty good deal, but I'd shell out the remaining 20 bucks and just get the full game.

Multiplayer is pretty fantastic. Graphics are great, guns feel powerful, balanced classes, and the maps are all pretty well designed. Not as many players as Call of Duty but I've never had too much problem finding rooms that were at least ALMOST full. It's a really fun, solid multiplayer shooter. For that price I saw go for it.

BUT, the single player campaign is pretty decent with some pretty cool set pieces. Might have to go on Wikipedia to get the full story since it picks up almost intermediately after the second game with the same characters and such. It's about 8 hours long. If you think that's worth the extra dough then I say go for that too, and maybe try shopping around because you can probably find a good used copy for less than $18.

Only thing is the retail version won't have the DLC maps bundled in (The bundle costs about $10 separately). Of course I've never played the DLC maps so I have no idea if a lot of people play on them these days. Can anybody here tell us whether or not people play the DLC maps? I've always wanted to try them.

Sure, if you haven't played the game before, I'd say buy it. But, as a fan of the series, the memory of the single player campaign's ending makes me weep blood.

in a "red dead redemption" kind of way? or a "Mass effect 3" kind of way?

If I were some sort of conspiracy nut, I might say that the Mass Effect 3 ending was inspired by the Killzone 3 ending XDD you can look it up on youtube and it looks awfully familiar. Think the worst thing for me was that I simply had no choice at all about the ending for Killzone 3. Which is probably why I have done my utmost to erase the memory of it from my mind and pretend Killzone 3 was never made.

Yup, I recommend it. I've never had a problem finding games with lot's of people in them. It's one of my favourite games to play online.

I'm not really sure how populated the DLC maps are, since I already have the full game, but I'd love to play some Radec Academy and Blood Gracht again. Those two were awesome maps in KZ2 and with the added brutal melee attacks I could really see them shine. I'm not too keen on shelling out money if it turns out those maps are ghost towns, though.

Anyway, as for OP, I'd say it's a definite buy. I've said, on numerous occasions on these forums that it's one of the best and most fun multiplayers I've ever played and the best multiplyer I've played, since BF1942. Fun and varied maps, good balance between the classes and I have to admit that the way of using leveling points to unlock weapons and abilities works better than the way it did in KZ2. Also, I really like the way Warzone works, with the different objectives of a map being randomized, moves the hot spots of conflict all over the map in any given match.

EDIT: I'll also join the crowd saying that they have no problem finding people to play with online, in any playmode.

This might be a dumb question but does the PSN version of KZ3's multiplayer have Botzone?

I'm thinking about just selling my retail copy now and just getting the PSN version since I have Plus and it'll only cost 7.34 for me.
