Well I know some of your answers might be to wait for Left4Dead2, and I can understand that. But Left4Dead, the first one, is very cheap right now and most of my friends are playing it. I like the game a lot, but I hear there's a lot of lag online. Should I still buy it though?
I also have a decent internet connection, so I probably won't lag.

Which platform are your friends playing it on? If its PC get that one. If not, buy the 360 version. The PC version is superior in my opinion. ( Mods and better community than Xbox live).

My friends are playing on the PC, so I guess I will purchase it. Thanks for the post.

I'd get it on PC if your internet and hardware is up to it. Valve likes updates, which take much longer to reach consoles. The price probably won't drop before l4d2 comes out so I'd buy it soon.

The sooner you buy it, the more time you'll have to enjoy it before you buy l4d2.

I would have to say get it if you want to spend the money. I would never get it for the X-Box cause everyone I play with on live is either a jerk or doesn't know how to stick together. I actually had someone run away at the sight of a horde and lock himself in safe room on the first part of No Mercy. THAT's mainly why I recommend PC.

You know that L4D2 is going to have the original maps on it right?

Sorry about the double post.

Your ping is based on the servers you are in. L4D has the whole "We will do the work for you" thing that is similar to Halo 3. Only problem is that there are a lot of shitty servers out there, and you will most likely get stuck in them if your sv_search_maxping is too high.

I would just wait for L4D2 and then the price will drop. But if you can't wait L4D is a great game, and its a more fulfilling experience on the computer so i've heard.

He might as well get it though. It's still a few months until L4D2 so I think he should just buy L4D now. It'll give him something to do. Even if you don't think it's worth the money to do that, he might and that's what the thread is about.

I'm not saying that, I'm actually thinking about buying L4D in a little bit.

One thing I really appreciate about L4D and Valve is that it runs really nicely and still looks good on low settings. It's up to you and I can understand waiting for the sequel, but it's definitely worth $25.
