First off, I don't usually buy new games. It isn't really in my budget. The last new game I bought was Beatles: Rock Band some 2 1/2 years ago. But my basic interest in this game is the fact that EVERYONE at work plays COD. They are all egging me to get into it. My experience with FPSs is limited. I rented MW2 awhile back. I didn't play multiplayer cuz I was sure I wouldn't survive 2 seconds, but I thought the campaign was alright. It was at least pretty to look at, but it didn't hold my attention long enough for me to finish it. I did love the hell out of Halo and played it constantly back when I still used my 360 (Before I had to ship the dead hunk of crap to be replaced 3 times).

Worst case scenario, I figure, is that I have a game that I can spend hours playing and conversing with my work buddies and get a few good laughs at how often I am killed.

So, should I fork over the money? Or should I save my hard earned dollars for something else?

EDIT: If you're going to base your vote on my lack of money, it isn't really an issue at this moment because I just sold a car I didn't need for $2300. So I have the extra cash to blow.

Azazellee, its not about WHICH game you buy, its all about WHO you're playing with. If you got colleques playing it GO FOR IT.

Better MW3 with colleques than playing BF3 alone, trust me.

Better BF3 with colleagues than MW3 alone, trust me.

EDIT: Just want to point out, not buying either game. . . and neither should OP.

That was the last new game you bought? Wow, my condolences. (trying to be smartass, not a dick.)

OT: I would recommend renting it first. From what I've played with my friend who did get it new (with the matching Xbox which actually looks and sounds pretty cool just like his Reach Xbox), it's surprisingly cool. The funny thing is that I'm not much of a military shooter fan as I prefer Sci-Fi/Fantasy sort of games, like Morrowind and Deus Ex (the original one). The Special Ops mode is a pantload of fun, resembling the Zombie Mode from CoD as far as mounting waves of enemies goes.

tl;dr: Rent it first or play it with a friend who already has. If you like it enough, then buy it. I've found it to be a surprisingly sound strategy.

I say go for it, you get a LOT of content for it.

Multiplayer - with friends can be fun even if it's not the most team-work game.

Single-Player - Don't let people fool you, it's quite long, I am about to reach the 4 hour mark (and I rarely die) and am at 37%.

Spec Ops - Various missions based on SP missions you play co-op with a friend or someone online. These are a lot of fun.

Survival - Similar to Horde mode but with COD's Kill streaks (you buy them as you get money) and other various guns. It has an infinite number of rounds and it get's really tough but really fun. Plus you can use all 16 of the multiplayer maps for this mode.
