Just becouse it was there, I had to pick "OMG ITS A FUCKIN PTERODACTYL!!!"
But if that wasn't, I would say hell yea. Had a lot of friends studying in different countries, and all of them had the best year of their lives. As long as you are\have the three things you said, you should do great. Have you considered other countries than USA? I'm more of a sucker for the UK and Ireland myself

EDIT: If your host family suck, you can switch for another without any trouble.

Okay.. I'm beginning to like the idea of going to Australia. Awesome nature, awesome accent, awesome everything and good weather. And fucking crocodile Dundee..

Last note that matters to your decision, however delayed it may be: I've been to England at least 10 times. So I have a little feel of how it is in England.

Come to Scotland instead, we're awesome. :D

(Sidenote) I've been using the word "awesome" too much today, I need to stop.

As an American, i can say, unequivocally, that you should stay as far away as possible for the US Public School system. Especially high school. Our educational system is utter shit. Go to Canada, England, or Australia. Oh, and Americans are assholes to foreigners, generally. I have some Korean friends here on a program like yours and they have a rough time with a lot of Americans. Pick a country that isn't the US.

Go to Canada! Even if America is the cheapest, Canada is just better.

Also, I picked the Pterodactyl option because it appealed to me the most out of the options.

Mate, so many people abroad confuse Britain with "England." Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales are all one country anyway. I think this is the case here as he also mentions Ireland, which is indeed a seperate country. XD

Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland are different countries. Scotland, England, Wales and northern Ireland are part of the United Kingdom. If you talk about the british isles as a whole then its either Great Britain or the British ISLES. I might be wrong but Im pretty damn sure that England and say, Wales, are NOT all the same country.

You should do it, there's a girl in my AS politics (I'm English) class doing the same thing, she's enjoying England so far (even though we're in the crappy part of England). Although she she doesn't really like the person taking care of her.

Do it but not in the USA, you will get shot or stabbed if you get placed in a bad area. I suggest Canada or Australia (choose australia if you like hot chicks).

I voted "hell yeah" because there's not just a "yes" option.

I'd do as much research as possible on the school you'd be attending, though, especially if it's in the USA. Here, some schools are really awesome and great quality and some are terrible and some are just meh. It's probably like that everywhere, though, to be honest.

But none the less, go for it. It's always great to get to go to another country and live there a while.
