Poll: Should i get a ps3? if so, why?

I've had a Wii for about 2 years now ( dont hate me ) and a xbox 360 for 1 year. as it is nearing christmas i am wondering about getting a ps3. anyone able to give their opinion?

Look up Folklore, Little Big Planet and Valkyria Chronicles.

If NONE of these appeal to you, and I mean REALLY appeal to you, DO NOT get a PS3, get a 360.

Well you have 2 consoles already, so it's really your choice, not that you'll be missing out on much right now to be honest.

Only two reasons to get a PS3:
1) Blue-Ray movies.
2) Exclusives.

If you really want the exclusives and to play the blue ray movies, then go for it. I don't care about either, so I'm happy with my 360. The PS3 is a fine system, but it you already have the other two, then just make sure you aren't getting a $400 paper weight that's barely going to be touched...then it's not a gaming system, but a waste of money.

You should get the PS3 so that you can heart me on littlebigplanet and play all mah lvls omg!

If you really care about LBP or MGS4 maybe. If you don't have a decent upscaling DVD player (or a computer attached). Then maybe. Otherwise I honestly think the 360 has the better exclusives (L4D - thats enough) and a better controller for what I play (FPSs).

And Resistance 1/2, MGS, and Uncharted... Just saying they are probably my favorite exclusives, and LBP.

I forgot about MGS (mostly because this forum is FULL of Yahtzee worship, and defending MGS4 on a story level is not advised), BUT Resistance only REALLY scores points for being the only game in town (Good FPS's) on the PS3, let us be truly honest, if you really want shooters the 360 has plenty of good options and the expense toget a PS3 is not justified.

Uncharted is a good incentive, though. I bought a PS3 almost exclusively so I could get this, I've replayed it 3 times now and I don't often replay games. Definately a good investement for me.

You should get it for the same reason I got mine... Exclusives! Resistance 1 & 2, Metal Gear 4, Little Big Planet, and Valkyria Chronicles are all amazing. I also have all three systems and I have also found that fighting games are better on the PS3 if you use the D-pad.

I enjoyed Folklore, and like having a PS3 handy for when my Xbox360 does it's monthly suicide dive, but it still hardly ever gets switched on.

Actually. A good point was raised about fighting games. They are so much easier with a decent D-pad. Which is something I fell the 360 lacks.

well, im starting to think my xbox is unkillable. instead of it overheating, i have to wait for it to WARM UP before it will turn on. and by this i mean i turn it on in the morning, wait 5 mins, turn it off, then on again and it finally shows the dashboard......12 months so no warranty no more ;(

The only reason I'd get a PS3 is to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and have a blu-ray player. A lot of the games that come out for PS3 also come out for PC, so I just pick them up. I don't think it's worth it unless you're creating a "starter home theater" and need a blu-ray player, but that's just me.

Should you get a PS3? The question caused me to wonder should I get a PS3. Upon deep reflection lasting all of 10 seconds, I came to realize the fundamental answer is, "while the PS3 has some pretty fabulous games, I barely make the time to play the ones I have already." So the answer, for me, is probably a big fat, "why bother?" Your situation, however, I could not say.
