Title is self explanatory, my Wii is about as useful as a deep-sea astronomy so I'm thinking of getting a PS3 or an Xbox 360. Now, I don't (can't) want to get games with guns in them like Halo 3 or MGS4. Basically anything violent is a no-no.

Edit: I'm not a 10 year old  Guardian hates guns,over-gorey violence(Manhunt,GOW,etc.)

umm.... 360 has viva pinhata (or some such spelling) and the orange box
ps3 has little big planet (although I use a 360, I've played LBP, and it's fun on 2 player)
both of them might have other games, but I don't know

I'd go with playstation 3, sure, I've never owned one, but my xbox literally has broken five times now, the last time just two days after its supposed repair, so eff the bloody things.

Though, for an impartial, non-biased opinion, ask INDIGO_DINGO

well do you wnat RPgs because I like Lost oddessy or infinite undiscovery but they have fighting in them so you might not like them personally I think you can goonline and look up game library for both and see which you like more

I would have said 360 but since you don't want to play any violent games, which make up most of both console's libraries I said PS3, it has Littlebigplanet after all.

ok i take it i'm not allowed to swear? lol mybad either way i would suggest maybe getting a Nintendo DS or something because Xbox and ps3 most games are violent so if your not into that it's best to have something that have more kid related games

Tricky both have few non-violent games really

360 perhaps? - viva pinata, banjo & kazooie nuts and bolts, scene it?

Dunno, the gaming industry seems to be a lot less child friendly recently

it depends on how much money you want to spend. they're both good and they have their share of strong games.

Asking the question on a forum isn't going to give you much insight, you'll just get fanboys from both sides telling you that their console of choice is better and giving no good reason for why. You'd be better off researching each system's game catalogue on Wikipedia for the sake of impartiality.

That said: I'm an FPS-hating 360 player and have enough games to keep me amused, however they're all multi-platform (Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Skate 2 etc) so that doesn't really help much with your dilemma. If we're just talking non-FPS rather than strictly non-violent, there's some 360-exclusive RPGs that aren't necessarily about violence, though obviously there's an element of combat to them. Oh, and Viva Pinata... but that's really for kids - I don't necessarily mind cartoony games, but Viva Pinata just gave me a headache.

i own a xbox 360 i choose it because it was cheaper and it had the games i was wanting its nice and easy to use online and is good to watch downloaded movies and stuff plus you can play downloaded games without needing to mod it or anything it's well worth it and has afew good racing and sports games so if you really wanted to choose one or the other i would suggest it because of the advantages tho it is best to go for the 120gb one as the arcade one isent worth it with a really small hdd
