Poll: should i get portal 2 or mortal kombat?

I can't vote. Get them both, Portal deserves the money for making the climb from small, original-idea-based, side project to sudden large scale high profile release. The whole first game was amazing and impacted the gaming community and beyond with it's fun design and brilliant writing.

Then Mortal Kombat needs no introduction. It pretty much gave birth to the popularity of fighting games and is still today one of the most fun fighting game series ever. IT has been waiting for a few installments now to get some o the old style breathed into it with modern technology support and has finally nailed it.

Get both or you will regret it.

Excuse me, but the original trilogy are rather well made too. Don't cut the games short.

I'm all for opinions and whatnot, but a little justification of that comment wouldn't go amiss. Also considering Mortal Kombat is pretty much just Mortal Kombat. Same thing it was the last however many times.

Portal 2. I played the MK demo, and, while it is brutal as all shit, I think Portal has more to offer. But if you can somehow pick up both, I'd do it.

Personally though, I don't give a shit, because I'm too busy thinking about Skyrim. Just sayin.

I can't justify HIS opinion. But I sure can justify my own distaste for Portal.

Portal is a game with an overwhelming gimmick. The portal gun. It was also painfully short by all standards and INCREDIBLY easy. I've solved harder puzzles when I was six.

It also lacked replay value. I played through the game once, don't see any point in playing the same puzzles again. The jokes that were hilarious the first time through are kind of boring through repetition. Both in the game and by everyone mindlessly quoting them.

I'm not the biggest mortal kombat fan by any means. Haven't played any since 3 (in arcade. Love those days...) Erm. Anyways. Even I am of the opinion that you're either trolling (in which case, good job) or are completely ignoring any of the games redeeming traits. Replay value anyone? Also, calling a game an "STD" could quite easily be considered trolling.

Mortal Kombat is amazing. I have never had so much fun with a fighter in years. I understand Portal is great too, but I will get a long experience out of MK.

I would say Mortal Kombat as I just beat it. And it was AWESOME! I also thought Portal 1, while good, wasn't as great as everyone said it was and had no replay value. Though I have not played Portal 2 yet, so I do not know how good it is.

But hey, go with what ever you think will give you the most play time and enjoyment.
