I know that there are always a lot of these threads, but I am really torn and I would like to know what some of you guys think.
------------

I have always enjoyed WoW, but lately I have had to really been in the mood to play it and as a result of me not playing for 3 months I cancelled my subscription, but now I find myself very bored.

I miss WoW a bit and I have a feeling that it will give me something to do when...I have nothing to do.

I am not addicted and I play WoW like it is a game.

I want to go back and give it a try, but it cost $15 to do so.

So what do you guys think?

Note: I am looking for help and constructive advice only please.

EDIT: Hey guys can your read my OP before voting? Also, subjective voters would be nice.

EDIT2: I am a casual player who treats WoW like a video game and not like a job. I only have 1 level 80 and his Gearscore is only a respectable 5300
I bet that 3/4 of NOs is from haters who never played it but I still say no, its worse then it used to. Wait for cataclysm.

NOOOOOO!

Video games are generally a waste of time, in my opinion - although that's not to say I don't enjoy them - and no game is worse for this than the dreaded nerd anthill of WoW.

Think about it! In those hundreds or even thousands of hours, you could:

- Attract a beautiful woman.
- Attract a beautiful man.
- Write a novel, and none of the usual shit that everyone on this site writes (usually involving steampunk / nuclear war / fallout references-a-plenty) but something good, like On The Road.
- Make enough money to spend a couple of months in Mexico, getting blown and dropping Peyote beads.
- Create a masterpiece of an album.
- Stalk John Frusciante, tormenting him in increasing degrees; on the first day you send him an obsessive fan letter, by the end of the year you're giving him blood donations and throw-pillows depicting him enjoying anal sex with Flea.

DON'T DO IT MAN, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS SACRED!
-I have a girlfriend.

-I am currently working on three different short stories.

- I have no interest in Mexican escapades.

-I wish I could create an album, but I am only talented enough to compose crappy riffs...which I do.

-I have never understood the reason behind trying to spend time with someone you don't know and who doesn't care about you just because they can act...or can run their fingers across wire with incredible prowess.

-I have one moth before going to college ( a good one at that) and I am bored.

I wish I could get some subjective feedback >_>

Should help you develop a style and play better
Learn to cook, paint, sculpt

Seriously a video game like WoW makes you a corporates *****, losing money, wasting time and all the time making a fat man in a suit laugh in his bath of your money
IT'S NOT A GOOD IDEA
I promise you, you'll look back and be thankful you didn't waste s much time on it

Either the poll options "Yes" and "Give it a try and see if you like it, if not cancel again" are the same, or "Yes" is your way of phrasing "Give it a try and see if you like it, if not keep playing even though you don't enjoy it." 'Cause if that's not what "yes" means you might as well have just had the first two options. But I say go back; seeing something about which you're nostalgic is always nice.

I voted "No".

But if you still feel like playing after say, a month, give it a go and see how you like it.
Or you may want to wait for the next Expansion (it is in BETA now).

A GS of 5.3k? O_O
According to an add-on? Cause that;s crazy numbers right there :p

I'd wait 'till Cataclysm, tbh, and continue on your 80, and maybe roll a new character to experience new Azeroth ^^

I think voting yes is like offering a recovering alcoholic a drink.

You, dear sir, are going through withdrawal. But, instead of psychotic behaviour and illusions, you suffer from friends and spare time.

I voted yes, noone wants spare time.

Yes, yes you should.
I'm not addicted, but I'm trying to persuade a few mates to buy me some game cards for my birthday so I don't have to pay for a subscription. Heh.but I highly enjoy it.

I know exactly how you feel. Except I'm that way with Diablo II. I've been there and done that. I've experienced everything I can. Every now and then I have the urge to play it but when I do, it gets boring very very quickly. The only difference is Diablo is free.

So, it's really up to you. If you think you'll be able to play it without losing interest, go for it. If not, just find something else. There's no point in spending money on something you won't enjoy.

Is it really? On my realm, Mal'ganis 5.3k GS is only passable.

But then again Mal'ganis is the most elitist of any realm I have ever played on.

Regardless, you can achieve everything you want far quicker if you designate the gaming time as project time. Then you can create more, get more material into the ether and maybe get published, or whatever. I'm sure your girl would appreciate more time spent trying to make her happy too.

You won't get subjective feedback, as no feedback is subjective; everyone is influenced by opinion, regardless of whether they hold it back or not.

It seems like you're defending your right to play WoW. On the basis of this, get it, as you want to.
You make some very good points. And I have been dating my gf for almost two years...8 months of which I played WoW and (as I have said before) I wasn't addicted so there was never a problem.

Your right I am being defensive, maybe that is a sign that I want to go back.

Try a different MMO, Guild Wars 2 looks better than WoW (as the first one was too) and it's subscription free, shame it's not out for a while yet but there are other options for sure.

Honestly, why not? If you're bored, and you found WoW a good way to pass the time then I'd say go ahead and enjoy yourself if that is what you like to do. Granted, as someone already said, a large chunk of the populace is more or less waiting around for Cataclysm so nothing too terribly exciting is going on.

Still, if there's no worries about it interfering with your life, I feel like it requires more brain power than just sitting around watching TV all day to waste time so you may as well. Do what you want to do, not what everyone else wants you to.

And hey, if you hate it? Quit!

completely up to you, I had fun playing it for a good 3 1/2 years total. I've had the game for more then 5 years, but about 1 1/2 of it I didn't play because it got boring. Then I would get pulled back into it for several months then stop playing again.
