Poll: Should I re-buy Dragon Age?

I think they're going to be releasing an 'Ultimate Edition' which includes everything, so I think you'd be best off getting that when it comes out.

I know I saw an ad for this, maybe on the Bioware website. No new DLC is coming so this could be a bargin at the right price.

I guess my yes comes with a caveat, did you enjoy Dragon Age the first time? If you hated it you probably won't like it on PC.

Ya im not quite sure whats wrong with people these days. I thought the pc was ment for mmos and online rts games.

You already own the game for the 360 so I wouldnt see any reason to buy it unless you like wasting money. But that is just me, I never really understood why somebody would buy a second copy of a game they already own and works just fine.

Not everyone can afford an xbox or ps3

personally I wouldn't however instead use the money to pre-order DA2 for the PC proving you have quite decent specs other wise get for the console.

the PC version means that you dont ever have to worry about disk regardless of the supplier as EA are now covering their games with digital versions if you have a valid serial key.

Psst... The Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age is coming out in about a fortnight, it contains all the DLC and Awakenings and Origins, and the PC version is only £18. When Dragon Age: Origins was released, I purchased it on the Xbox 360, since I wanted to play it, and at the time saw no alternative since I had yet to obtain a decent rig that could possibly play Dragon Age. Now that I have a Good PC for gaming, I'm debating whether or not I should buy it again on PC, since as far as I can tell the game was designed with PC controls in mind and would play a lot better than on a console.

Mate, I loved Dragon Age. It was great fun for the time it lasted. Awakening was brilliant too, though I rented that because it was over-priced as hell. But really, think about it - are you honestly going to bother crawling tediously through the Dwarf quest again? Or that fucking aggravating Fade section in the Circle Tower? You've beaten the game once, it was fun, and that's all good. However, if you're anything like me then you'll buy it for PC, play it for a few hours, and then think "Fuck this, I've been here before and it wasn't much fun then". It'll just sit on your shelf gathering dust.

Save your money, and spend it on a different game that'll be a totally new experience for you, something fresh.

The last good games being made in the world today are single player PC games, every other genre is teeming with mediocrity and capcom lolbaddery.

I would sell my soul and give the proceeds to Bethesda, BioWare and Valve.

Why does modding automatically make a game better? As several people have pointed out in this thread, most of the mods for Dragon Age are stupid and add nothing to the game. In fact, I'd argue that modding doesn't make any game version better, as once you start tinkering with it it becomes your version of the game rather than the game itself.

The PC version may have more options, but that doesn't make it better by default.

I think it really depends on how much you want to play it again.

If it's a game that you really enjoy, then it could be worth it, but if it was only so-so in your mind, then I don't think it'll make you love the game - it'll still be the same game at heart.

Why does modding automatically make a game better? As several people have pointed out in this thread, most of the mods for Dragon Age are stupid and add nothing to the game. In fact, I'd argue that modding doesn't make any game version better, as once you start tinkering with it it becomes your version of the game rather than the game itself.

The PC version may have more options, but that doesn't make it better by default.

Its pointless to try to use that type of logic on them. I completely agree with you and have said it before many times but people dont seem to understand. The majority of the mods are either nude ones or giving stupid gamebreaking equipment, etc. Mabey one in a thousand are actually usefull and rarely worth looking for.

I actually tried looking for some good fallout 3 and oblivion mods once. After about 3 hours I had only found cosmetic, nudity, or game breaking ones.

Yes, the game was practically made for PC. Plus the Ultimate edition will make it even more worth it. Not to mention all the mods that are out there for it too.

I don't think Dragon Age ever got the modding community that, say Fallout 3 or Oblivion got, and thus there's less good stuff.

It will... in a way. Some of the decisions you made in Origins will have their reference in DA2, which of them and how big the impact will actually be is not yet clear, but yeah, there will be a little bit of overlap.

Unless you really like Dragon Age, no. I looked at the assortment of mode for it, and I've found nothing that I would want to download. Actually... alot of the mods bothered me. >_<

I can bet half of the mods were nude mods to stare at naked pixels of ugly women? And men. Though Alistair was pretty good looking.

The only reason I would want the PC one is for the much better graphics, even better than PS3. Though, I've gotten almost all of the trophies for that game on PS3... and as badly as I wanna play the PC version, that's a lot of tedious shit I have to redo
