I've learnt it's best never to get rid of a console. Your ganaranteed to regret it eventually.

Save up and buy a 360 (PS3 if you have a HDtv and your interested in the exclusives) rather than selling the Wii for quick cash. It's a pretty poor console for long term value, but it's a great companion to the real next gen consoles and there are some real gems on the system. Just not enough to have it as your only console.

Personally, I find the sad truth is that the best way to get the most out of your Wii is to buy 4 gamecube controllers and a few games. The Gamecube was an awesome console with some really amazing games. Wii is just a Gamecube with a couple of extra stick waggiling games.

This. There is no manlier way to game then with a system you put together with your own two hands.
Unless you manage to play a game on a live bear whilst wearing a top hat.
Or one tha looks like this

or this

If these were released as custom casings for the Ps3, I'd get them in a heartbeat.

see this is what i'm talking about, ditch the wii and get yourself a ps3 then NUKE IT.
kicks the ass of every xbox360 case mod in za warudo.

I love seeing Viva Pinata brought up in PS3 vs 360 arguments, what a pathetic game.
Never, ever, ever judge a game without playing it. I've borrowed it and it's an addictive and suprisingly hard game that should get so much more love.

Interesting artical. It's astonishing how much people under estermate (sp?) the Wii, even after Mario Galaxy. That game was easily as good looking as most 360 games.

Well, I admit to playing my Wii every now again, but ever since I got my 360 I haven't been paying much attention to it. The wii for me seems to really excel in multi player games (offline, not online) -- SSBB, mario kart, marble madness -- and rail shooters -- this system plays rails shooters really well and is a smash hit if you have any friends or family visiting you. But for the lonely among us *sob* the 360 is the way to go since it offers superior single player experience (good graphics, mature themes, xbox live service) that has a real leg up against the wii. As for FPS -- I really TRIED to like COD5 for the wii -- forced myself to play it for a few days before I gave up... then tried playing it on the 360 and never looked back... well this is my experience and opinions anyways. Hope this helps you out!

Wii Processer = Gamecube processer, ditch the gamecube dressing up as a white PS2 and get a PS3 because of the free online and lack of red rings.
you are the dumbest gamer I know. The PS2 had a slower possessor than the GC. The Ps2 had a worse graphic card than the ps2. the ps2 had a slower possessor than the SEGA DREAMCAST!!!!

yes the wii is not as powerful as a 360, but that is no point to push it off as a ps2.

to tell you the truth if you are going to sell you wii I would wait, cause if you are going to buy a ps3 the longer you wait the better the price, sony has said the ps3 still has a good 5 years left before they are going to cut funding. So you can get cheep games and not spend alot of money for a ps3 now.

I would surgest that you wait for the conduit, and pick up mad world right now.
... Chillout dude, I was talking about the appearence. The smaller PS2 looks like a black wii.

And you don't know me at all, please don't flame and calm down.

I'm sorry to to say this. But I own both an Xbox 360 and the Wii and I hardly touch the Wii. I guess its novelty has worn off. It was really fun swinging it around, and beating it off in mini games and quick time events(which I got laughed at for being soo good at). But now...well I guess I just want to kill things, or explore huge non linear maps, Game on line fast and efficiently. Also kill more things.
My situation entirely. Still, it's good for when my lady is around. Can't beat a bit of strip Wii sports.

I think you found a good use for the Wii.

Damn straight. Mods are the main reason I will always love PC games more than console games. If you have a decent PC, then the PS3 has the other games that don't make it to PC.

DLC is why the Playstation Store is there, 1.50$ for a DLC isn't much and in the long run saves money cause you wont spend 50$ on DLC in a year and most DLC packs are released for free on the PS3.
For one example, Titan upgrade for UT3 came out for free yesterday for PS3. 360 owners will not see this update. So whats this I hear about 360 getting more DLC? Then there's the many 360 exclusives that went to PS3 with more content, such as Ninja Gaiden Sigma II, Lost Planet: EC, Eternal Sonata and Bioshock.

Gah. Fanboy wars.

Fun.
...
Buy a PS3 if you want free online, and a dependable console. Though, it's exclusive titles and exclusive DLC's will always differ to the 360's, it's just much more reliable.
I'm sorry, I don't see many 360 DLCs nor exclusives beyond Halo, Gears and Fable II.
There are quite a few, but most exclusives aren't worth buying a PS3 for. For instance, Haze isn't. Killzone isn't. MGS4 maybe, if your a fan.

Whereas the 360's exclusive games are pretty good. GOW and Halo like you said, I fantastic online. Fable II? Not so much, still a good game though.

To be honest, I was more thinking Left 4 Dead, Ninja Gaiden and the exclusive Fallout 3 DLC's. The last one is bit of a sore spot though.

Honestly either a PS3 or a 360 is a step up from the Wii, an thats coming from an X Nintendo fanboy. (I own all consols and so far and the wii is shit)

I'm also thinking about selling my Wii, and I own all three consoles.

The 360 is definitely better than the PS3.

If you can, buy the Elite version for the 120 GB hard drive and HDMI port.
It's personal preference as to which console you buy. The 360 is a little cheaper, while you get slightly more out of a ps3 (free multiplayer/blu ray compatible, etc).

My personal preference leans towards the ps3 because I like the ps3 exclusives more than I like the xbox exclusives. Also, blu-ray games means many of the games play in 1080p resolution with high quality textures. This year is a great year to buy one as well, as their 2009 exclusive lineup is hands down the strongest release line-up of any of the platforms.

Toe for toe, the systems are pretty equal I'd do some research into which game's exclusives you like better. If you're looking for the straight value, i'd go with a ps3. Pays for itself over xbox in 2 years anyway.

I'm a Wii owner and operator and I enjoy it time to time. I'm not really into the whole console wars thing, whenever I find a game that I think I'll enjoy, I usually get it, though I haven't for any PS3 games, but I do sometimes get 360 games, my secret, my younger cousin has a 360 and PS2 and we play back and forth between our Wii and his 360, this way, I only spend money on games and don't have to worry about consoles.
To tell the truth, I'm not for the PS3, it just doesn't seem to have a lot of games that would interest me, though from time to time I tell my cousin he should get a newer PS2 so we can play the games his older version console won't.

If your willing to lose a foot at the cost of a PS3 go ahead. But really it comes right down to what you play. if you play a lot of gamecube games, get a gamecube for about 50 bucks and sell the Wii. If you like games like Zelda, Metroid, and Mario keep it. It really comes down to what you want. The Wii if for Nintendo fans, The third party content is pretty mediocre on it. If you want games that are not Nintendo staples, then sell it and get a 360. there cheap, and have all the games a PS3 has almost. I have a Wii for my Nintendo games like Zelda, Metroid, and Mario. and a 360 for my other games like Gears of War and Bioshock and anything else that looks appealing. Get both if you can. That way you can play pretty much every good game out there. The PS3 only has about 3 decent games so far. Resistance, God of War and Metal Gear Solid
Also true, i'm on a little budget though.

Done.

But as interesting as it was to read about TEV and the Wii's untapped potential (and the Factor 5 hypocrisy, since they complained about the Wii's hardware before they went on to develop the crap known as Lair) I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to tell me.

1) The PS2 had a faster main CPU than the Dreamcast. However, it was seriously under-equipped in the graphics memory department, sporting only a quarter of the amount that the Dreamcast had.

2) He was only comparing the Wii to the PS2 in the appearance department... which is really silly too, since the PS2 was an ugly fucker and the Wii is quite stylish. I'd also point out that he's incorrect about the Wii CPU being the same as the Gamecube CPU, since that's like saying that a Pentium II 233 is the same as a Pentium 133.
