But seriously, no. As prone to mood swings as younger people are, them carrying a gun is not exactly waht I would call a great idea. Bad decisions would be made, and lives would be ruined.

Maybe those things hit me a less hard than most people, but I've never felt a mood swing that made me that emotional, infact the only time I was that angry and adrenaline filled was when I was in a scuffle that turned into a real fight(niether being my fault).

my opinion is yes, IF [/b} and this is a serous IF, they must be worn openly, they CANNOT be concealed, they must go through a 9 week training program, get the proper licenses, and go through a mental screening to make sure that they wont go postal when they get turned down for the dance, and they must be 16+ to even be considered.

Need to add this to my requirements. I think some under 16 could handle guns, but only if proven able. And yes, they should be worn openly for everyone, a training course is needed, and licenses and mental screening are needed.

Yes. And one more thing I felt the need to add: if we had a group of mature, responsible gun-carrying youth's, it might curb the gang problem. Students in gang-infested schools wouldn't be defenseless against gang threats as they would be able to defend themselves. Still best that you call the police, though. Hmm, student police could be helpful in the inner city...

Point is exactly what it sounds like. I don't believe in any form of government, thus I will never come to agreement with anyone that supports more governmental control. Simple as that.

I agree with your model, but in practise, there are cases of mental illiness (presumably genetic in this case), and cases of parents who don't do their job right, the reality of kids getting more access to firepower and training to use said firepower will most probably be a rapid increase in school shootings.

That's all very true. And you are, in all practical considerations, right. That said, I don't particularly care. Hopefully the stupids will kill themselves off, and then I won't have to worry about 'em anymore.
