I heard something about link being voiced by robin williams. That definately has my vote.
On the other hand, that would mean giving all the freakish sentients of Hyrule voices too. I have a bad feeling about gorons.

Only so that I can hear Mario beg for his life when I put a gun to his head, the little prick.

Mario has a voice, and Link isn't a real character. He's like Gordon Freeman, an avatar through which the player can interact with the game world. But a character? No.

Ya..uhh..Mario already has a voice, and could have full voice acting if need be.
that guy is the coolest man alive.

link: i dont think he should have a voice but he should still be allowed to say stuff like everyone else, through text.

mario: mario's voice sounds pretty good and he's actually said some stuff in the past, but full voiceacting would just feel weird.

I like the fact that both are (more or less) silent protagonists. I think I'd be weirded out if in the next games, there were fully voiced cutscenes (or something).

I hope to god that Nintendo has more sense than that. We know where to get our fix because we're long time followers. Make one bad game and you lose a lot of long time followers.

If you play the Mario & Luigi RPGs on the GBA they both talk. True, it's in a form of Italian giberish but still.
I'm Italian. It's true. We speak in gibberish.

So, yeah. Mario speaks when it's important, and Link should just stay silent...because they need to stop making LoZ games... :x

They both have voices! Although they don't say much...
A voiced Mario wouldn't make much sense, as there are next to no occasions that require him to speak.
Link... there are points where speech could help him, but you'd get a huge backlash from the fan community. Also, it would remove some of the charm from the character, and make it much harder to carry on the 'every Link is different' mythos
