I did not like paperman that much. I'm sick of Disney writing about people who value love over EVERYTHING else. It's stupid and they've done it too many times. :/

Nice visual style, though.

I wouldn't mind more shorts as long as they're not written by Disney (not pixar, their shorts are pretty good).
"Oh, love stories are so bad because reasons!" Come on dude, seriously? You're really going to write it off because it's about love?
Heh, I'm just saying, maybe this short's title should've been unempoyedman.

I'm not sure, probably not

Paperman was fine, although I'm not enamored with it. Further, I'm not sure if it works for all movies. At a certain point you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it to do it for every single movie. So no, having a short before a movie would not incline me to watch a movie, just as (for me personally) I wouldn't by tickets to a concert if I only went because the first 30 minutes of the opening act was good.

I really like the short films that come before Pixar movies and the like, but they don't really affect the likelihood of seeing one movie or another. It's more like an added bonus that makes me more likely to think positively of a movie.

I like it as a Pixar tradition since the guy put as much work in those shorts as they do in feature lengths. But if it were to become an all-out thing I'm sure most of the shorts would be pretty sucky.

I say 'other' because while I love the Pixar shorts (loved Paperman) not all films need to feature shorts or serials before the feature presentation. I generally go into a movie early enough to watch the pre-trailer stuff the theater throws on the screen so it won't get me into my seat any faster. In fact knowing a serial or, short I don't like will play may make me come in later or just use that 5 minutes to take a leak or, buy some snacks.

So my option is Other. I love the Pixar shorts and want more of those. I'm open to the idea of serials and, shorts coming back. That being said, I don't think they're necessary. I guess I would go for a 'yes' though since I would pay more to see a movie with a pre-film short as opposed to a film in 3D.

That was beautiful. And yet... she was blind the entire time...

Well, when a short film comes before a feature film, I've only ever known about it upon seeing it. I had no idea that the "Paperman" short film would be playing just before Wreck-It Ralph until it actually started up. (I didn't even know it existed until then.) It does seem like something nice that should come up more often. They often go unnoticed in this regard. Just type "Short Film" into YouTube, and see how many thousands upon thousands of results you'll get that you've never even heard of.

I didn't really care for it, it has the most cliché premise and it takes it to the corniest extreme. I like the visual style though, as a handrawn rendering of CG.

Personally I just don't care. I don't come for the short and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the actual movie at all, but it's also too short to really bother me either so whatever.

I liked the short animation, but it wouldn't influence my decision to watch a Movie. If there is a pre-movie short; I'll watch it. But it is overall irrelevant compared to the film. I'll compare these shorts to a Warm-up Band. They aren't the main act, but they can sometimes be better then the thing you paid for. So, I'm for them, but I voted 'No' Because of the question.

I liked it except for the magic part. It'd have been better if it had flown towards her by coincidence or something.

As for whether or not films "should" have them. No, but I think they work for light hearted movies, and if they fit in with the film they'd make a nice addition. I can't think of many shorts that would fit in front of an action film though.

also i'm pretty offended that the guy had the brains to try and escape the evil magical killer paper aeroplanes while as usual for disney the woman is dumb as fuck and decides to chase it as if she is some mentally challenged kitten screaming "owww shiny!!!"
The guy has a bunch of them pushing him around, the woman has a plane made out of a piece of paper with her lipstick on (that came out of nowhere) flying away. It's hardly some sexist statement about how women are stupid.
