Damn... I don't know how or why I thought FPS when I read the title... Subtract one vote from No and add it to Yes.

Also, Go Keyboards! I love you guys!

No. Why should a genre be limited to just one system because of a minor control issue?
Saying the shift for an RTS to a mouse and keyboard is minor makes me wonder if you'd also consider it minor to be limited to one button and no janalog stick.
The keyboard isn't really a plus in my eyes. The mouse is the only thing that makes PC RTS's better to control.
fair enough, it can make things a lot faster thought.

They should. Certain things like quickly selecting troops and grouping, building structures etc., can only really be easily accomplished with a mouse and keyboard, where any key can be a shortcut and moving from one spot on screen to another is easier.

If they can make the controls work at least decently, why not? That's the only complaint people have about them, after all. If we're playing on consoles, there's no less maphacks and dipshits with hypercooled quad-core pentium 4000s zerging you while you're still on the loading screen too.

There was a time when people said FPS games would never work on a console either. Thankfully, we can't hear those people from underneath the big mountain of money that Microsoft, Valve and Epic are sitting on.

Halo Wars was more dumbing it down for console tards which really sucks. It wasn't a very deep game at all.

I prefer it just on PC even though I did have fun playing C&C on N64. It's sooo much easier to control and hotkey everything, especially when you want to pull of difficult strategies!

Seriously, for all of you saying that RTS games shouldn't be "allowed" on consoles...honestly, why?

"The controls are too simplistic/pathetic/clunky." -- Why do you care? Go play a PC RTS and don't even pay attention to console versions if you hate the controls.

"It's too simplistic/dumbed down." -- Again, why do you care? If you prefer a more complex game, GO PLAY ONE.

Really, if you feel that console players should be shunned from the RTS genre, you are denying a group of gamers an entire genre out of pure spite, and nothing more. There is NO effect on PC gaming, and the only reason you could possibly want to deny someone the option of playing a console version is because you don't think they "deserve it."

Are you threatened by another group of players having fun in a different way than you?

It is not as good when it crosses over to the other platforms, but still having played halo wars and was a huge fan i believe it should still have its days with the controllers or else i will most likely be deprived.

As long as my favorite franchises stay on PC (C&C - Tiberian Universe only, Starcraft, Company of Heroes, DoW)... I'm fine, the rest can fuck off. I don't need Halo Wars or the continued raped Red Alert series.

I can't imagine playing an RTS on console, that's GOTTA be worse than an FPS on console. You will never beat mouse & keyboard when it comes to controlling an FPS or RTS IMHO.

I think RTS should be on the console as there controls work very well with the game mechanics, i been playing RTS since I was very young, got every single commander and conquer and settlers etc. I wouldn't say Pc RTS are better, just normally the company who make them are to cheap to spend money and time of putting the rest of the stuff in the console version. (sims 3 for console as a example)
You just got to get your head round the console controls for RTSs. It like if you played FPS on consoles then try it on the computer, you just need to take a little bit of time getting used to the controls.
