Basically, today I was out and about with my girlfriend, and she hadn't heard about the Anon response to MegaUpload being shut down, so I showed her the article they poster on the main page. And it was miserable: the text was tiny and blurred, it took forever to load, and it really got me thinking.

So, my fellow Escapists, should we see about getting a mobile version of the site in the works?

I have no problem browsing The Escapist from my phone and most mobile sites are terrible. You can always try zooming in, and it loads a lot faster than mobile sites since you don't the site doesn't go "OH LOOK A MOBILE PHONE here's a gutted version of the site with terrible navigation!"

Whaa? I can view this website just fine on my phone. It does take forever to load, but that happens regardless of what you are viewing it on.

Still, a dedicated mobile version couldn't hurt.

I always have trouble with this site on my phone for some reason. I mean, how hard would it be to get a simple version with a nice font that take the recent articles and videos and whatnot. Just an opinion, in any case

I personally have no problems with the Escapist on my iPhone at all when loading the full version of the site.

I sometimes browse on my phone in the mornings just before work, and the frontpage takes an eternity to load. It would be a lot more convenient and I definitely would use it.

I'm typing this from my phone right now, and I must say that while it works it definitely isn't very user friendly. Y'know, from a usability perspective. I just had a test about it as a matter of fact.

I don't really see a need , I can view the escapist just fine from my phone and tablet , I posted this from my tablet on fact .
Sounds to me like the issue is device related rather than escapist related

I think more than anything, the site could use a "slimmed down version", which doesn't run so much javascript/lots of CSS on loadup. I'd be perfectly happy to sacrifice aesthetics for speed, and I use the site exclusively through a laptop.

Yeah, i use it on my iPhone to and it seems to work alright. Although i often miss-click because the numbers and stuff are so tiny... (Forum page numbers ect).

What browser do you use?

I'd like an IOS app because it probably wouldn't crash as much as Safari. But that's not really the Escapists fault i guess.

I use the basic Safari Browser. Although I have started using the Atomic Browser and it seems to be better so far.
