Also, I wish stores would stop "enforcing" the ratings. There is a reason that they are not law.
You must not be old enough to buy "M" rated games then. I also think you don't understand how incredible it is that there isn't a law. The reason why there isn't a law is because stores and game companies alike are doing their best to enforce these ratings. If stores weren't stopping kids from buying Manhunt, Jack Thompson might have been successful in passing a law, then you would really be screwed. "M" rated games would be in a separate room of the store or heck even in a separate store.
I think it is great when I go into a Gamestop or even Best Buy and the clerk says to an adult "Do you realize you are purchasing a game that is rated "M" and may contain graphical sexuality and/or violence?" I have seen adults put the game down and not buy it. Granted I have also seen idiot Mom's buying little Johnny GTA3 because his friend said it was 'cool' and completely ignoring what the clerk was saying...
I don't think there needs to be another rating between T and M. I think the stigma behind the AO rating needs to go away.
I don't think teens can't have M rated games because teens that get video game are to dorky to do any thing, like me. The sex just passes by them not bothering them, or me, and there are smart enough to know not to commit violence, like me.
Kids younger than 10, however, should never even see this content because they are much more impressionable. They will think its OK to do the stuff they see of hear in M rated games. It will also make them meaner and likely less intelligent if they often play it. They can also get addicted to games, and it will stick to them until adulthood.
Kids 10+ should be playing teen rated games, not including the one mentioned in this topic that should be rated M, because they have content that is interesting, not too explicate, and fun.
Now I can see why you don't like games with bad content because it is inappropriate, but not letting things being inappropriate is like saying you don't have the right to curse because you don't like it. That would be unfair to tell someone what they can or can't say, but if you say a curse infront of a child that it is a bad thing to do because they would copy it and use it frequently.
My point is, it not bad to be inappropriate, or too play violent video games, but it not right to do it with some one who will be badly affected by it. Lastly, if you don't like something in a video game, or what some one said, then just don't buy the game or don't bother the person who said the thing you did not like.
