Hey i havent played the first portal game, so is it worth it to buy portal 2 now at full price or no?
I've heard crazy good reviews about this game, so i'd appreciate some help, from people familiar with the game..

I've only played ten minutes of it so far, and yes, yes it is worth it. Get it on ps3, you also get it on PC for free.

Why would you want to play Portal 2 if you haven't played the first? I have never understood this logic unless the prequel is really old or a completely different style (Fallout 1 and 2, System Shock 1 for example). My friend kept going on about playing Mass Effect 2 because it was so highly praised but I refused to lend it to him unless he played Mass Effect 1 or else he was missing out on important things to the game.

Just because a review is high doesn't mean you will like it, and they almost always assume you have played the previous titles anyway.

Agreed. The first game is very short anyway, might as well try that first. Last I saw, it was free on Steam, so no excuse.

Thats exactly why I am asking, I am looking to buy a new game and Im not sure if I should wait and buy Heroes 6 or gamble it with Portal 2.

It is nonsensical to just randomly pick up a sequel just because it has good reviews without even playing the first, I wasn't asking why you would want to play Portal 2 as a game, I was asking why on earth you'd buy a sequel to a game you have never even played.

It was free for a limited time, but it is very cheap anyway, and definitely worth the price.

I liked portal 1, tonight when I go home im getting Portal 2 via steam.
Its quite an original concept for a game.. and to be honest I dont have a good puzzle game in my "library".
