It's like the second game with slightly better graphics.
I was... deeply dissapointed.

I went medium, it is a improvement over 2, but there is something missing, a large fun factor, now, that coupled with that I couldn't stop playing it for some weird and annoying reason dropped it a rank.

It's one of those games that doesn't feel like a game, but I can't stop playing it! :\

I never played Sims 2 so I'm not dissappointed at all. It's a lot of fun and you can kill lots of time with it.

I t improved on everything I wanted it to. I do have my gripes i.e. not being able to set proportions, lack of hairstyles including facial however it's not bad, just needs patches and (god damn it) expansions.

Umm...Err...I don't know yet.

The traits are quite interesting. Well, most of them are. Insane for instance opens up some really weird cool conversation paths, but absent minded just makes forget your camands, which is a pain in the arse and nothing else.

The open world aspect...isn't completely open world. You can't actually enter any shops, work ect yourself, you just see your sims go in and come out a couple of hours later which is a bit of a disappointment. Plus the you can enter a house if they invite you in, other wise you only seem though the window.

The needs and wants things has...kind of been replaced (or at least rethought) with buffs and debuffs instead. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not yet. Basically if you have a good nights sleep, you get a 6 hour buff, if you have a good meal, a buff, a good clean, a buff, music is on, a buff. You get debuffs with your needs go down too low, like if their too sleepy or they had a bad day at work. They...they don't change that much. The way they've done the wants now is MUCH better. Now a want with come up in the top screen, and you can leave it, or save it for later. That means you don't end up with your want bar filled with impossible wants.

There a irrataiting thing though. Speed up isn't fast enough. That is really, really annoying. Theres great big huge periods in the sims where your sims are doing nothing, going to work, speeling ect and it takes FOREVER! In the sims 1 and 2 it was over like that and you could get back to the game. They really, really need to fix this. Ever time my guy goes to sleep I nearly do.

I havn't got into it yet. Maybe I'm just bored of the sims in general, or maybe the it's not enough of a change from the sims 2. I don't know...It's ok.

lol, I don't know if I want to play it if it just kills time :D
Don't all games do that :p What I meant is that the game is quite addictive and doesen't get boring. If you are of the creative kind you'll find endless fun.

Lets rewrite a design decision made by the original developer add more pixels and spend crap all to propagandize and convince everyone IT ISN'T THE SAME GAME!

As if the 15 add on packs later wasn't enough of an insult to your intelligence.

I'm surprised it's still going to be honest, the last one I bought was On Vacation I think, and that's going back some.

I actually quite like it. It's not a huge improvement over sims 2 - it feels more different than better, though i gotta say i get off on the trait system and i feel they've done a lot to improve the quality and realism of social interactions. There are a few things that really bother me though. The completely free library + gym + everything in the basic neighbourhood are ridiculous - given how easy it is to from lot to lot now it seems to not matter *at all* what you have at home. In fact, you're better off NOT buying a bookshelf for your house because of the study advantages of going to the library anyway. You'd think you'd at least need a gym membership - or maybe the gym would have opening hours? (i'm not fond of this second option).

It will always annoy me how there are obviously things that have been *removed* so that you can get them in an expansion back. Seriously - it is SO OBVIOUS that they have the code for town/work/shop lots, but they're going to charge you 50$ to use it over the base price.
