Do you buy games for the solo campaign or the online aspect?

I like games with a good single player experiance. I didn't go online until after Modern Warefare 2 came out and I never felt something was missing from my gaming. I honestly cannot tell you how many times I played through CoD 4's solo campaign. Same thing with many other games.

So what do you perfer, solo or multiplayer?

EDIT: I tried changing the poll but it wont work, so if you have a different option you'd choose just post it below. Thanks.

I'm mostly a campaigner. I don't know online never really appealed to me. I like having a story and a purpose for what I am doing. Also you always have "that guy" who completely owns everyone. That said I did enjoy the Assassins Creed Brotherhood online. Something about it just did it for me.

Oh god solo only solo.

I really hate games based on multiplayer and I only have two of those.

A game is only great if you can play it on your own, but that's just my opinion.

Too many games are based on multiplay these days.

Solo. But only if they actually spent some effort on it, and not tacked it on to a multiplayer based game ala Bad Company 2.

I prefer a game with an engaging story.
But I do feel some of the lasting appeal lies with games with very solid multiplayer.
But then again, I still play games like DA:O, F2 and New Vegas.

Man, I know I've heard that SOMEWHERE before, but I just can't remember where. Huh.[footnote]I'm being sarcastic, it's Zero Punctuation. [/footnote]

OT: Depends on the game. Some games are only fun when played alone, and some games are only fun with other people.

I voted multi player but I really mean Co-Op and that's because I think a well made Co-Op game is nearly always better then a well made single player game.

I play games for the single player every dang time. I have never, ever bought a game for the multiplayer alone, and I do not plan to do so in the future.

Team Fortress 2 is the only multiplayer I do aside from the very occasional Assassin's creed: Brotherhood round.

Though it depends greatly on the game, I really like to have a good balance of both. Though I'd never buy Call of Duty for it's campaign, or Dead Space 2 for it's multiplayer.

Single player. I'm a firm believer that any game should be able to hold it's own on single player...

People I know personaly, multiplayer. Random people online with no lives who take all the fun out of killing them, single player.

I'm more into multiplayer if there's co-op. No co-op? Then single player. Don't get me wrong, I'll do some adversarial stuff from time to time, but I prefer slaughtering NPC's.

i voted single player but this is how i feel, co op gives me infinite replay value with games (that's why gears of war gets played so much by me and my friends) and it almost always guarantees having a good time.
