Gray Jedi. All the fun of force lighting without the guilt and no "No fucking" rule.
I'm about to be a massive continuity wanker, so feel free to ignore me.
Going by the book continuity (which believe me is better than the movie continuity) the Jedi of the Old Republic believed in sexual relationships as long as no emotion was involved, and even their views on emotion were less of the 'don't feel emotions' and more 'allow yourself to let go of the connections emotions have to the real world.' It wasn't that you weren't allowed to feel, it was a zen-like 'feel, but allow the negative to be detached from yourself.' I'm explaining it badly but oddly enough the Avatar philosophy from The Last Airbender was actually closer to The Jedi Code as described by the books.
Also, again in the books, there are good Jedi who use Force Lightning. It gets established a few times that the Force is not dark or light, it is the lightness or darkness within oneself that matters. You can be an entirely righteous, pure-hearted jedi and still use Force Lightning. There's a scene in RotJ where Luke uses Force Choke on two guards for heaven's sake, and the Jedi have never exactly had a 'no-killing' policy.
The difference between the Jedi and Sith is summed up best by Matthew Stover in the Ep 3 novelisation. A Jedi draws their control of the Force from nature, and the natural Forces that surround them. Instead of trying to control the Force, they allow the Force to move through them and control their actions. A Sith draws the Force into themself and makes it serve their will. A Jedi is a 'conduit' for the Force to perform, a Sith is a 'plug' that stops the force so they can use it for themselves. The difference between a river or a dam, and of course a dam can break, meaning Sith have much more liklihood of just snapping and going kill-crazy, or of being destroyed from within by their hatred and rage.
So yeah, I'll take Jedi thanks, I'd much rather be Obi-Wan than Anakin.
