Good, because if I do the right thing enough, I can occasionally tell people to jump off a cliff and still be a good guy.

Gray Jedi. All the fun of force lighting without the guilt and no "No fucking" rule.
This.

I'm pretty sure I can be aggressive and Sith-ish without the who drunk on power thing.
And that's where the dark side gets you. When you think you can handle it. Those Sith-like powers always come at a higher price than any Jedi pays for their powers in the end. And there are different types of "aggression". A Jedi can certainly be aggressive without resorting to dark side tactics. So I just go straight-up Jedi.

Plus, the whole Gray Jedi thing just sounds like an attempt by some fan to have their cake and eat it, too, and I say it then misses the entire point of the light/dark dichotomy so central to the mythos. It just ruins the concept. Go Gray? No way, Jose.
i think its more of a way to be chaotic neutral which is how i would be i dont like the jedi way of thinking i mean if you imbrace all of your emotions and surpress none your more likely to master yourself then if you have to surpress love hate and anger.(and sith surpress their light side so dont tell me thats a sith)

Jedi, as long as they let me use my force lighting. If they don't allow that, I'm outta there.

LIke I've said every. single. time. this thread has come up, (not attacking you by the way, it's just that we have one of these threads every other week): I would train as a jedi, then join the dark side, get me some force lightning and then work as a bountyhunter. I'd be a Jeth. Or a Sidi. :p

Its funny how even the poll is.

OT: I would start start as a jedi because the sith are not exactly trustworthy when working with them. Then, I would have some kind of falling out with the jedi Order. Most likely disagreement about their philosophy. Then, I would just be someone that can use the force. Neither jedi or sith.

Grey - absolutes are for twats.

But if I could only be one or the other - Sith.

There's a lot unsaid about the Jedi in the movies, games and etc. and if you look beyond the protagonist-tinted lenses in which all the movies and games are based, they come off just as if not more sinister, totalitarian, genocidal, and callous than the Sith.

Part of it is due to the series having crummy writers with no sense of subtlety, but if you think about it, it comes to a question of whether you would prefer a system that works by unstable but well-intentioned (usually) extremists, the Sith; or utilitarian space-nazis, the Jedi.

Taking the more thoughtful approach rather than base it off of costume color and whether or not I get to throw force lightning, I would choose the Sith just to have have the freedom to train in the force without some oppressive moral authority dictate everything I do.

It's a very interesting take on light v. dark that sadly gets thrown aside for amateur writers to go "BvZOOOOMM WASSHHKKK CLASSSSHHHHK LIGHTSABERZZZ FIGHT! ZZZZOOMMMM CLASSSSSHHKK VZZZZ!". Where one side is the "Always chaotic evil" side while the other is impossibly good and flawless, denoted by the light and color spectrum of their energy swords.

Of course more serious fans will probably rip a few holes in my previous observations; if so, they are probably right.

...What kind of Sith? Bane's legacy? (power at any cost) Kaan's brotherhood? (darksiders working together) Lumiya's Martyrs? (strength through sacrifice) There have been quite a few types of Dark Side force users, but Jedi (Light Side, I mean) are generally the same as far as I can tell.
Gray is probably the best way to go, you're not tainted by the Dark Side or blinded by the Light. (as it was once put when describing Luke) I think Qui-gon Jinn was a gray jedi, arguing with the counsel all the time.

And why would I have to be ether, what if I just want magical force powers and a lightsaber and just live in a cave.

i would be on the light side because im not evil, but i do wish there were more incentive in the powers area...

sith have force choke and force lightning, which i really like. AND they get to use red lightsabers, which is my favorite color and what i would prefer to use.

in games, i use em anyway :p

and the Sith get to wear black, which along with RED is my favorite color combination :( it just looks so badass

Jedi that has learned the powers of the dark side. So I guess Fallen jedi that has reascended(?).

The power would be immense, the understanding great, and I would have a deeper knowledge of the world outside the black and white view of the Sith and Jedi.

EDIT;

I'm going Sith, that way i get one of cool double edged lightsabers.
There are jedi that have used that kinda lightsaber before, even well into a after Vader rising to power and hunting the jedi. Its not exclusive, like hte colour red isnt exclusive.

I like to think I'd be light, but I'd really be dark.

Same argument for why I could never be a cop: I love the idea of justice but cops never get anywhere near justice. They're stuck enforcing the law instead, and they can't even do that because their hands are so firmly tied. So what they really do is deal with the same stupid shit from the same stupid people over and over and over and they can't do anything about it and they know there's a better way but they're not allowed to use it and every time Joe Asshole smarts off to them the temptation to just bust out the nightstick and show him what the law is all about gets a little stronger.......

I'd last about a week, then I'd be beating people's faces in. So Sith for me.

neutral both side are too extreme. sith's are asswipes and jedi's have many rules and some stupid morals.

Jedi, because I'm not a dickhead. Sith are in it for the Evulz [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ForTheEvulz] in almost all cases, which is silly.

Plus, if I was Sith I wouldn't be able to have an awesome purple lightsaber.
you just had bring tvtropes into this... what the hell is wrong you?
