Poll: Skype or Ventrilo

I've been playing some MMO's recently and always found chatting to my friends to be a hassle when you're busy killing stuff. I just had my first LAN type thing and found that just talking is so much easier and so much more fun that I've been considering getting a headset. Unfortunately the game itself doesn't have in-game voice chat so I'd need a program to run in the back ground for it. My question is, which should I get and why? It doesn't have to be Skype or Ventrilo, they are just the only ones I've heard of, but it does have to be free.

Skype for small groups, Ventrillo for larger ones. Thats pretty much the standard procedure in my gaming groups.

I have never heard of Ventrilo but i am usually on skype with 4 to sometimes 8 people. what makes Ventrilo so convenient on large groups?

I've got both. I use nether.

If I have the smallest problem with a online chatting devise I tend not to use it.

I use skype to talk to groups for up to 8 people. i never got to use ventrilo because I never found a server to use.

I prefer Skype, because you can also use it as a phone.

I typically just use Steam's voice-chat, but I would rather use Ventrilo than Skype.

I've never heard of Ventrillo. I've enjoyed Skype and I really enjoy the fact there is a limited people allowed in a call. It limits the number of people who won't shut up.

Heh, I pretty much have used every client there is.
Mumble, Teamspeak 2 and 3, Ventrilo. Haven't actually used Skype much though.

For guild or clans you need Ventrilo no way to pull off team based objectives (raiding ot team PVP without it). For buddy chat skype will do.

Oh yeah, don't even try running a guild through skype, things would get really confusing. But yeah, skype is better for small groups of friends. I find it insanely useful in online shooters or whatnot. For a full on MMORPG when you have a full guild running something though, spring for a vent server.

I use Teamspeak if anything.

I've tried Skype because my friends thought Teamspeaks 50kb download was a bit too much. For my Skype was just glitchy, extremely laggy and a little awkward at times.

Vent and Teamspeak are more for gaming, Skype's more for casual use n smaller groups.

I find the in game chat fine for small groups, but raiding it absolutley positively has to be Ventrillo.
