Poll: Sleep Texting?

So, A while back, I was up passed 2 A.M. and was texting my Girlfriend... Around 3:00 I fell asleep. But the next morning i woke up to 7 or 8 texts, all from her, about a conversation I didn't remember having. So I went back and looked at my sent list, and sure enough, there were 8 Texts from me to her after 3:30, Many of them trailing off into gibberish. Here was an example of one of the Texts I had sent.

"Why are you doing this? all i wanted was a furry kitten... But nooo The guacamole was too spicy... and hjjaks." Sat, Dec 11 2010.

So my question is, has this ever happened to any of you escapees?
and if it has, what were the messages about?

Edit: i'm Pretty sure that the message corresponded to my dream some how, and yes, i sleep next to my phone.

I suppose it was more likely a case of being half-awake and forgetting about it, than a case of actually operating an electronic device while being dead-asleep.
But hey, phunny story anyway.

You should try and train yourself to do work that way.

Honestly I've never heard of sleep-texting before, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be possible. Maybe you should sleep a bit further away from your phone, OP!

Never happened to me, but I have a friend who... "rubbed one out" in his sleep.

It hasn't happened to me yet.
However, I once dreamt I had forgotten a friends birthday.
As soon as I woke up I texted her birthday wishes and apologised for forgetting.
She replied her birthday was still a few months away.

Always take the time to come back to reality before you text someone. It could have been much much worse.
Imagine what could have happened if the dream had been more... spicy.

That actually did happen to me once...
I was texting my girlfriend and passed out around... oh, six AM or so (I code a lot... I don't get much sleep, lol) and when I woke up, same thing happened to me that happened to you xD A bunch of texts involving quotes and for some reason, I was asking her where the river was...
Musta' had some strange dreams, lol

Looking back on some texts I think I sent in my sleep and/or state of extreme delirium I think it was worse than the gibberish some of my drunk friends spout...I don't know how I am able to do it. Hah

I can't say I've done that, or even heard of it. ALthough that sounds friggin' funny XD

I can tell you I have been to the toilet when I was asleep once, that was pretty funny, although I missed the toilet by a room :/

Asleep? No. Very severely drunk? Yes. I was shown the messages that I had been sending, and had no memory of, and there were no words at all, just gibberish.

Yup, agreed. If you're exhausted your memory functions start to suffer.

I've heard of sllep walking, sleep eating and sleep mowing but I,ve never heard of sleep texting that is amazing

I have found out that I send text and emails on nights I take an Ambien to help me sleep. I Do not remember a thing the next day just have the evidence in my outboxes and people asking me "wtf?" about things they have received. If I need to take Ambien I try to turn off the PC and leave my phone in the other room. xD
