The fat one. The Slim looks as if it was made from plastic and broken dreams... but mostly plastic. I prefer the metallic chrome look of the old fat models: not to mention if you're willing to Ebay one, you could find one with BC.

I own a fat 80GB PS3, bought it used in May. Not too upset about the new ones coming out for one simple reason, the same one for every new Sony platform, fixed bugs. Every time Sony brings out something new, there's always bugs to be fixed, and then there's the Sony staple, overheating issues.

I've never owned a PS3 but i am now seriously considering buying a slim, what with the size and price drop.
I voted slim, and I'm glad it's matte black, I'd spend too long getting fingerprints off the Fat PS3 for it to be time/money efficient.

I've never understood the complaint that the Ps3 is so big. It's not a gameboy, you don't have to carry it around.

I'd say fat as it will probably be cheaper.

Slim because the only thing XBOX360 had over PS3 was hard drive room, and now they both have 120GB so Sony finally trumped Microsoft.

The Slims have fewer USB ports, and none of the card readers that the Fats do.

In all honesty though, do you need to have the fifty billion USB ports and a card reader? I've used a grand total of one USB port in my PS3, for charing the controller.

I actually use my USB ports, for extra controllers charging, for our External media drive (as if the 360ish gig internal drive wasn't enough...), and we use the card reader for quick photo sharing with the family, and since we have multiple cameras with multiple card styles, the multiple readers are useful. Will everyone use them? No. But they're very nice to have.
