Fast Zombies are generally not really zombies, not even in the movies that feature them. I consider infected but still generally living people to not be zombies. I also tend to feel that anything that is dead is not going to be able to move that fast even if somehow animated.

Also I'll be honest in saying that I do not think the "fast zombies" (so to speak) were created by guys like Danny Boyle in 28 days later. The first time I ran into that kind of thing was arguably with Argento's "Demons" series and of course "Evil Dead" where the justification was that they weren't zombies but people who were possesed....

Honestly I found possesed people more unnerving conceptually than a virus.

I like both. In fact, I think it's scarier with both. Reason? You don't know when a zombie will just stand idly by or go berserk at any moment. It would be suspenseful.

slow isn't scary at all, i dont care if there is a horde of them, i have limitless amounts of brainpower/time/tools from the apocolypse world to deal with them, wether that is machete's/chainsaws/or whatever, its just not scary or intimidating for slow zombies

the fast ones however...thats another story, considering they feel no pain and dont get tired, they could easily catch my ass even with me running a 4.3 40 yard dash, so yes, thats infinitely more scary
But what about when you have to sleep, do you think you could get all you need to survive together in time before they start to surround you? (they always gravitate towards people)
i have thought of this, that is why i would find the roof door of some buildings, i would be able to prop metal pipes up before and after it so not even a fucking tank from l4d could get through it, and i would destroy the fire escape, so there is no way for them to get to me, without being zombies of course, especially your slow ones

slower = more time for me to think = greater chance of survival

Here's a good rule of thumb: slow zombies require headshots, while fast zombies can be killed with enough chest shots.

I said fast cause it makes for a more intense moment, but if I had to be realistic... I'd probably go with slow, cause real life zombies would most likely be slow. I don't know if a hunger for flesh would be enough to make them quick moving predators. It might make them vicious, but given their undead nature, I don't know if they'd be agile.

Slow.

Having the knowledge you can out-walk your pursuers only to realize, no matter how slow they are, they will find you, attack you, and feast on your corpse. They don't need to rush, because there is no doubt that eventually they will get you.

The whole world is infected, there's nowhere to go. You can run, but you can never escape.

They're both good in their own ways. Slow ones are great for build-up and tension, while fast ones are great for pulse-pounding action and suspense. Both of my favorites zombie movies are 28 Days Later AND Dawn of the Dead (Original not remake) so I like them both. But for the poll, I'll say the fast ones simply because in real life, you wouldn't stand a damn chance. That and also as one of the rules in Zombieland states: The zombies are fast, which means the fatties were the ones to go first so have good cardio. And since I'm a slow runner (I'm not fat though, but I'm abnormally skinny to the point I'm weaker than your pet kitten) I wouldn't stand a chance.

So, it's a decision between an Athletic, Yard-Dashing variation, versus the classic, "WE IZ GUNNA MOB U" Zombies.......

If I had to say it, the choice is MORE than obvious.

Neither, I would prefer a zombie that was gunned down, not moving, and could not be a threat at all.

I'm in the middle, on the one hand I have a soft spot for the classics and those tend to be easy with one, but when there's a lot, it gets difficult, but on the other, fast zombies tend to be scarier and make for me yelling a lot at the tv.

I love to watch the old movies with shambling, blue zombies. It's scary, but also kind of silly at the same time. But, I also loved 28 days later. I think that fast zombie films tend to have way more gore porn than the slow ones, just because that's the type of film that is being made now.

I love fast zombies in video games though. :)
