Nope. Don't think I would care to try either. I don't really care if people do it, just don't around me. Its a disgusting habit.

Cigarettes, not that nice.
Cigars infrequently.
The more... ahem, "herbal" variety every so often.

I have this feeling you're doing a research paper on this... :p

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
- Yes, I prefer Menthol
Why do you smoke/why did you start?
- Smoked during a drinking session. I started during one of those drinking session.
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
- Can't really count it per day, but per drinking session, I can smoke a pack, king size.
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
- Well, somewhat. But I do it for the stimulating effects.
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
- Occasionally
Do you regret smoking?
- Not really, not a frequent smoker.
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
- No, and I can control the urge to do so.
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
- I can't tell...

I can give advice to this question:
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
- Just don't let themselves be taken over by smoking. If already addicted, decrease the smoking frequency gradually, until you stop. :3

EDIT:

I was gonna try that, but I chose not to.

I don't smoke because I don't like the smell, it gives me a headache, and I have asthma so it is out of the question.

I don't really care if other people smoke as long as they aren't doing so right next to me. I would also perfer if they don't go to close to me either because the smell of the smoke on their clothes can give me headaches too.

I understand there are various health issues regarding smoking and while I have no right to use force in preventing others from smoking, I would highly suggest that they don't do so for the sake of their health and the health of those near them. It is their choice, but as long as their choice doesn't affect me, then I don't really care.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?

I do smoke and I prefer smoking Marlboro Black Menthol or Marlboro Ice Blast

Why do you smoke/why did you start?

Hahahaha, I'm a cliche'd case of peer pressure from about 2 years ago. I would have been about 15 years old.

How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)

Well at the moment I'm testing to see how long I can NOT smoke. However on average less than 1 pack a day. howevevr it does vary.

Have you ever tried, or are you considering trying at some point?

Smoker.

If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?

Yes I enjoy it. I like the rush, I enjoy the pose and I guess I just enjoy it.

Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?

It tends to depend on my mood, location and who I am with. I guess I am a Smoker (with the capital S) however I want to keep it down.

Do you regret smoking?

To be honest...not at all. Well not yet anyway.

Do you think you are addicted to smoking?

Yes.

Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?

Hellz no. I didn't cough my first time, it doesn't make me feel drowsy and it hasn't made me forget about personal hygiene. Also by Terminale (last year of highschool) they stopped caring about our class and smoking.

What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?

Course its their right to choose. Just like drinking alcohol.

Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?

Very difficult to the point of my not succeeding yet.

What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?

Put your mind to it. And get a "sponsor" who is a friend. And don't make my mistake of choosing a friend that smokes as your "sponsor"

I used to smoke. I've been quit cold for just over 9 months now. I much prefer it this way.
As someone who did it for ten years, I can say with authority that smoking sucks and is stupid, and people are stupid for not quitting as soon as fucking possible.

Do it. You'll be much better off without it.

It takes all your money, makes you base your decisions in life around whether they're convenient for your habit, makes you look ten years older, and smell like a wet ashtray rolled in tar. It's foolish and gross. Quit while you can!

I don't think I'd ever go back to it. Not ever.

I actually developed asthma because my father smoked all the time, and smoked in situations where I physically couldn't leave (such as the car). So, not a fan of smoking in general, though I respect others' rights to smoke, I think that smokers should be considerate and take great care to not affect others with their smoke.

I have tried hookah before, because certain types actually help to clear out my lungs. But it's a very rare occasion.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
Used to smoke Camels, but quit. I do enjoy an occasional hookah though.
Why do you smoke/why did you start?
I started because the group of friends I had in high school smoked and I gave it a try. I continued because I liked it
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
I didn't smoke a lot, maybe a pack a month at most but usually just a few packs a year.
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
I did when I smoked, but I didn't do it enough to warrant paying a bunch for a pack only to have half of them get bummed or go stale.
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
I still have the occasional smoke if I've been drinking, but it comes out to 10 or so cigarettes a year.
Do you regret smoking?
Not really, I more regret some of the wasted money.
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
Nope, didn't have a problem quitting.
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
Not really since my family has not been torn apart and I am not ostracized from society. School education on smoking was a little over-exaggerated.
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
Yeah, though people should be considerate of non-smokers.
What do you think of smokers?
Their life, their choices.
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
No, and I highly doubt it will be. Taxes on cigarettes keep increasing and are a good little money maker for the government. Prohibition also never has the intended effect.
Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
Pretty easy since I never smoked consistently over an extended period of time.
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
I don't really have any advice, because my quitting experience was very easy and I know that it won't be that way for many.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
No, Used to smoke GV rollups
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
Used to be ~6/day
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
Did
Do you regret smoking?
No.
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
No.
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
No.

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
No because I'm not a fascist
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
Yes.
What do you think of smokers?
Same as other people
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
No because I'm not a fascist
Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
All right
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
Plug it with something else, such as water whenever the craving hits, swig water. Never anything with nicotine in it, rates of quitting with nicotine products are lower than cold turkey

I don't smoke and never will. Both of my parents smoke and its truly disgusting.
I do mind when people smoke, can't stand it. They should take better care of themselves and think about the people around them.

Why do people who do smoke in this poll always say that its the biggest mistake they've made in their life? You can stop. Its only hard because people told you it is.

Wow....quite a few non-smokers here. I knew smoking was minority but I didn't think it was this outweighed.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
Every now and again, I used to smoke quite regularly but I've cut down to where I don't need a pack on me and I'll go months without having one. But when I do I prefer Camel's.
Why do you smoke/why did you start?
I dunno why I started, I just turned 18 and bought a pack. Before then I had had one or two cigarettes at parties or something.
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
I peaked at about 7-9 Cigarettes a day. I would smoke when I got out of work, smoke before and after class, smoke etc etc. Basically whenever I got a chance
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
I do enjoy the taste of a cigarette or a nice cigar
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
Just occasionally now
Do you regret smoking?
Not at all
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
Nope, I was for a time, but I've quit (for the most part) and I don't feel the urge to smoke anymore
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
I dunno, maybe. We got a whole standard Sex/Drugs/Alcohol/and Tobacco are all wrong and will kill you type of deal. I mean at least they covered the Lung Cancer bit

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
When I had never smoked I didn't mind smoking. As long as they didn't blow it straight in my face
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
Yes
What do you think of smokers?
No opinion either way
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
No. Once you're an adult I think you have the right to choose, that's my stance on alcohol as well.
Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
Quitting kinda sucks. You're going to get to that point where all you want in the world is a cigarette, but you're going to have to say know. Prepare to be more irritable as you don't have anything to make you stop and relax
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
Cut back at first, but eventually the only way to do it is Cold Turkey till you've broken the addiction. And then you still have to be careful cause one pack too many and you're back where you started

Well I grew up in a big family made up mainly of smokers and people who were dying of lung cancer so I'd be happy to contribute here.

I mind others smoking, it harms themselves, it harms me and I find myself very uncomfortable with the smell of cigarette smoke.

While I acknowledge that it is the right of people to destroy themselves I am a bit perplexed as to the morality involved in demanding that I be near them while they do it, inevitably causing harm to me, and it is not aided when they also feel they have to tout my ears full of how much it is their right and how wrong I am to feel uncomfortable around cigarette smoke.

I can't judge all smokers under one banner seeing how they're too diverse but the moment I notice someone smokes I note that they have an undesirable trait.

I don't think tobacco should be banned, it didn't go well when we had prohibition on alcohol or other smokable plants, I support high taxes on cigarettes though, seeing how it is a luxury item with plenty of harmful qualities which are documented to add to our healthcare expenses, and the same thing goes for alcohol.

I will not buy this Tobacconist...it is scratched!

Heh, sorry, but I don't smoke. I don't care if other people do, but I don't bother.

EDIT: Oh, sorry. There was a questionaire? My bad. Ahem...

{1} No, and kippers (for breakfast).

{2} I don't/didn't.

{3} Zero.

{4} No, and...no.

{5} N/A

{6} I always don't smoke, as a habit.

{7} I love kippers. (Answer is no.)

{8} Nope.

{9} Would you believe I've forgotten everything they taught me about that in school? Kind of irrelevent, since I'm in the know and still don't do it myself.

{10} Pffft, I don't care.

{11} Smoke if you got 'em. I don't care.

{12} What am I suppose to think about 'em?

{13} Yeah right. Like that'll ever happen. Let it go, man. They'll never stop, so why should you bother?

{14} Nope.

{15} Have you been paying attention to my answers? Quit or not, I'm not bothered here.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke? Nope
Have you ever tried, or are you considering trying at some point? No and also no
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion? It was more of a mixture, I think. Education about smoking was always combined with drugs and alcohol stuff too. Nothing individual.

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke? Honestly, I mind. The smell is rather unpleasant and I'm always paranoid about second hand smoke doing something to me.
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose? It is their right, yes. I have no real opinion. If they wanna smoke, let them. They'll either die early or not. What do I care? As long as they give me some space.
What do you think of smokers? Pretty much the same as above. Don't care. Just keep away from me when they light up, and it's gravy.
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking? No.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke? Yep. I smoke Camel Black if I'm feeling fancy, but I usually just stick to rollies.
Why do you smoke/why did you start? My friend visited me and he smoked rollies. I gave them a try and I really loved them
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant) Between 6 and 18. It depends really.
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it? Yep.
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally? Everyday.
Do you regret smoking? Nope.
Do you think you are addicted to smoking? Probably.
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion? I wasn't given any really. I'm fully aware of how bad for you it is, I just don't care.
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose? Yes. Whoever answers this differently is a complete plank.
What do you think of smokers? Smoking is a habit of a person, not a certain type of person.
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking? No. If people want to smoke, let them smoke.
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting? Go cold turkey.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
Yes, usually Malboro Reds, Chesterfield, Lucky Strikes occasional clove cigarettes and cigars.

Why do you smoke/why did you start?
Was stressed out a lot as a teen and grew up enjoying too much freedom. Hung out at bars, drank a lot. I started at 15.

How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
Sometimes two packs a day, sometimes just a cig, sometimes nothing.

If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
If I wouldn't enjoy it I wouldn't smoke.

Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
Depends on the mood and events.

Do you regret smoking?
Nope, not really. Maybe the fact that I spend a lot of money on cigarettes but I don't spend much on anything else.

Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
No. I can stop smoking for months before starting again.

Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
Yeah, pretty much. Of course, they presented the worst outcomes to scare us off. They haven't happened yet.

Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
Less things to do with my hands, otherwise fine.

What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
I just do it. I know other people can't - my mother tried and failed - but I never had problems with it. There are products that help, I suppose...nicotine patches, gum. I don't know much about it.
