He's dead, this shows some things, like dont fuck with Navy SEALs. He has paid for his crimes through his death, we have made but only a step forward with the War on Terror with this, but, someone will take his place, but has this done something, yes.

Oh of course someoen will take his place it is just a matter of who, how many rivals he killed to get to that position and how weak that will leave the group after the guy who takes over finally consolidates his power.

Was that moral boost worth the 14,000 to 34,00 (depending on report) civilian deaths? That is, death, end of life, nothing, nada. Was that boost worth the 7,000 + US soldiers who died?

I'm not saying it's all been for nothing, but it's a hollow victory at best. If you think a brief economic surge is going to make up for that, you're mistaken. He's dead, and it all still happened. End.

If it gives any relief to the friends and families of people affected by 9/11 that is great but I think that is the only thing that could come from it even remotely to our advantage. He is just one person from millions that hate us personally for the choices of our political leaders, the prosperity we have and the lives we lead. There is no way we can make them like us and I think our only other choice is to keep them hiding in disorganized fear.

If anything, it could only encourage more people to try and take his place, which could make matters worse.

he's dead, that's a good thing, he was an extremist and an all round terrible, hate filled person, and the only reason I feel bad about his death is that now he will never be held accountable for the atrocities he had a hand in. but all in all, good riddance.

however I not naive enough to assume this changes anything, he was not the sole cause of islamic extremism and it will continue without him.
