Funny thing, Bioshock 2 dropped in my mailbox today and of course I eagarly installed it.

Then of course Securom does a server check and realized the game comes out tommorow and won't let me play it.

I'm not happy right now.

i have it already. my local games store seems to get all the cool games one day earlier. it was the same with borderlands. i´m not doing any multiplayer until tomorrow though, i heard some guys in france got banned for playing odst online too early.

an hour in and i must say it´s pretty cool. there´s a lot more combat, more enemies than in the first one. the new hack gun is pretty cool. dual wielding plasmid and weapons makes for a faster combat, although it gets hectic sometimes. so far i´m not sure about the plot, but i won´t post any spoilers anyway. it´s certainly more action focused so far but well executed and rapture is as haunting as ever. the only letdown is that some of it feels fairly recycled. right now i´m looking at the pause screen for example and it looks almost exactly like the last. i know it would be dumb if they didn´t stay true for the artstyle, but a lot looks exactly like in the first. the games intro level is also almost the same like in the first in terms of progress(yeah, get electrobolt, shoot the broken doorknob, person x calls you on inter-whatever-com, says do that, person y appears on screens all over the place, says no don´t, you should rather die, and so on...).

so by now i´m neither disappointed, nor overwhelmed by it. it´s too soon to make a final resumé, but it seems the game improved a lot on the combat side because that´s something that´s definetly more fun than in the first. also, drilling splicers into pieces is awesome. i wonder how much money 2k spent so they could bribe the usk in germany in agreeing to release the game uncut. not that i have a problem with that. it just makes no sense if you look how the fucked up left 4 dead over here with their censorship.

It's out already. I played it. It kicks the living shit out of the first in every single category.

Preordered. It's a no-brainer. Especially if you liked the first game.

No fair that people already have their copies but Direct2Drive is holding back. :p

Got bored with the first one as soon as the spectacle of the very cool opening scene ended, so can't say I'll be bothering with this one.

I would get it if I hadn't already bought Mass Effect 2 a couple weeks ago. My birthday is in a couple months though, so I might get some money or gift cards to use for it.

I completed the orignal Bioshock, and found it to be just below average. I think it was one of the most overrated games of all time. As such, I won't even bother playing the sequel.

But that's just my opinion, you lot go and have fun.

Not my kind of game. Found the first one to be interesting, yet boring. Might try it out sometime in the future though

I'm sure I'll pick up a copy eventually. I tend to be a budget gamer so once the price on the PC version drop $10-$20, then I'll get. Unless I happen to burn through my current crop of games faster than planned.

I'll be getting it in 3 to 6 months when nobody cares anymore and the price goes down a bit (maybe). The first one didn't interest me enough to really be looking forward to the second (The RPG side didn't drag me in and shooters don't really interest me. I also am not so easily swayed by people saying how good the story is).

Enjoyed the first one a great deal, but for some reason this time around I lack any excitment for it. Maybe in a few months I'll think about it
This. For some strange reason I feel like I'm too busy go out and drop $60 on it immediately, so I'll get it eventually, probably for half the price.

Hate to hate, but when I was waiting for my train, browsing the electronics store at the central station, I already saw BioShock 2 in a special edition on sale. It was in a big stand for 360, ps3 and pc, so the novelty died...

Anyway, not getting it, because I like my harddrive non-deepfried. Also It's just not realy my game to play...

Love to see it, it's probably going to be one of the best games of 2010, but that might be a bit preemptive...
