Cold. Although I hate cold, but I'm still a lot more used to it. It's easier to warm up than to cool down. And dying of cold is far more pleasant than to burn to death. You also have more energy to work. And a bunch of other reasons.

I'm gonna go with a cold apocalypse for one good reason: I dislike warm temperatures. Even when it's hardly 20 degrees Celsius I want to lock myself in a freezer with bandwidth. But when it's cold enough for most people to refuse the world and sit infront of roaring fires all the freaking day I can roll around in the snow half-naked (and get sick) and loving every second of it.
Me too, hate the sun. Is this some kind of deasease? I want to move to a northern country just because I can't stand the Sun.

Well, I live in Sweden, which is rather northern *hrm-hrm*, but I long for a forced move to northern Russia or something, mostly because our government is a laugh and the summers are unbearable, but during autumn, winter and spring it's actually quite nice.

To answer your question, no, I don't think it's a disease even though most people would have you believe that. It's just genetics playing you like a little ***** (no offence)

Cold because then I could build snowmen until I die but in all seriousness I would rather wear several layers of cloths then die of a heatstroke making me hallucinate and hugging a cactus until I bleed to death.

I pick Zombies, because Zombies won't have any direct impact on the Environmental stability of the planet (emphasis on -direct- impact, as things like city fires or nuclear meltdowns caused by no-one being around to stop them would have immense impacts.)

Thing is, with zombies, you can survive off the land, in the event of a global Ice Age or a... what would you call it, a Desert Age? Thousands, probably millions, would die simply because it'd be impossible to feed them. You can't grow crops in the snow, and the power requirements to grow enough food for a colony indoors would be astromical once you factor artifical lighting, and heating to keep the crops growing on a yearly cycle. Perhaps there are ways around it, but still, Zombies are cooler anyway.

Definately cold, according to "my sources" freezing to death isnt all that bad, I've heard that the moments before you die it's actually not so bad at all compared to other ways of dying.

Then again... those might just have been comforting words? (Not that I know anyone who's frozen to death).

Urgh...Fallout style. Everytime I think about my poor character going through the desert I get more appreciative of the weather. Sand gets everywhere, I hate heat and sun...

Cold. Definitely cold.

Although zombies would rock too.

Can't we just have a temperate Apocalypse? I'd be cool with that, maybe just start a farm with my brahmin.
Come to Washington. I don't think even the apocalypse can upset our wonderfully temperate climate.

Hear that apocalypse? I challenge you.

I want a cold one, since I'm more used to and more well adapted to that kind. After all, I live by the rule that: If it's too cold, you can make it warmer (start a fire or something, I don't know) but if it's too hot, you can't make it colder. Note that I'm thinking reasonable apocalyptic situations here. A cool bath isn't likely in a heat apocalypse. But even in a cold apocalypse you can find what's needed to start a fire. Also, I like the cold. Much more than the heat at least.

I don't want the apocalypse anytime soon, so I pick the sun going red dwarf on our asses. Of course that won't happen for a few billion years(correct me if I'm wrong). So, finally OT, hot apocalypse.

A hot apocalypse would make it easy to dehydrate and, in whole, be a horrid experience while a cold apocalypse could cause illness but, if you have a coat, a cold apocalypse would be livable, like living in Alaska.

This is what gets me I think I sometimes get too immersed in games as in fallout games at night when i am in the middle of nowhere i imagine my character feeling really cold as winds pick up as he is wandering around the wasteland.

But then i think to myself wait a moment I am in Washington or even worse the Nevada dessert my character is not cold lol.

Must be me being British thinking that night time is normally cold.

But i would prefer hot i can deal with heat rather well

I would say... hot. But that might just be because I'm Canadian and I'm fucking tired of winter.
Me too!

And I'm from Israel originally, so I like heat.
And being Russian in background as well, my friends and I sit in saunas.

At 80 degrees Celsius.

This automatically made me think of the old Twilight Zone episode "Midnight Sun."

Two women try to tough it out as the Earth is on a collision course with the sun, and New York gets progressively hotter.
It turns out in the end, that Earth is moving away from the sun, and is slowly freezing. The hot apocalypse was just a nightmare of the one lady who had a severe fever.

If it were the hot apocalypse, I'd just shoot myself. I wouldn't be able to handle it.[/footnote]

This quote should illustrate my answer "kill all sons of bitches". For those who don't know, my apocolypse of choice consists of hiding and shooting mass hordes of here. For those who still don't know what type of apocolypse I chose, you could go get your brains munched on by .
