I did, and in some way I do. I believe in the thought of Santa, giving without thought of recieving.

And then I see my Christmas loot and say "forget that notion."

Hum, this topic usually doesn't pop up until November and December...

Yes, I beveled in Santa. Yes, I think my life is better for it. Of course I'm a romantic so, I'm basis, but I think that there is something special about Christmas, and Santa is an important part of that.

I believed in him...I'm not glad I did though. One of the things I hate most in life is being lied to. It may sound dramatic but I can't stand lies told to me.

Without Santa Claus this materialized holiday has lost the "magic".
Exactly. Christmas without the Spirit of Santa is like Valentines day without Cupid, the whole thing just becomes a money-making gimic.

I actually posted a thread on this topic (along with about 50 others) around Christmas. When my tiny little niece said their is no Santa cuz her parents told her so. I was bummed cuz Santa is just harmless fun. I see nothing wrong with it. It's fun to give kids a little wonder, imagination, and magic to the world.
because The real world can crush their spirit soon enough.
