Trying to hijack my thread? I will respond to your comment but I advise you look at the picture of Zangief I found under [Sambo] before you go any further with you hijacking...Mumorpuger said:Well, I'll agree with Jeet Kun Do is the "best" art, because it's more about getting the job done, asap, with as little effort as possible.
I wonder if I can hijack this thread.
So, There's a debate that Bruce Lee, if he were in his prime and alive today, would be terrible at MMA fighting. I disagree, because he pretty much invented MMA, and would sweep the floor adapting to the new styles. Anyone have input on that?
Scared yet?!
Also, yes... many people have seen that JKD is the original MMA and have said that Bruce Lee was the father of it...
But he wouldnt be in his prime, Bruce Lee would be 69 if he were still alive.
However, if you are saying Bruce Lee in his prime then I would have to say nay... he performed feats of near super human levels that no one has come close to matching to this day.
For example:
- He could thrust his fingers through unopened cans of Coca-Cola (This was when soft drinks cans were made of steel much thicker than today's aluminum cans).
- In a move that has been dubbed "Dragon Flag", Lee could perform leg lifts with only his shoulder blades resting on the edge of a bench and suspend his legs and torso horizontal midair.
- He performed one-hand push-ups using only the thumb and index finger.
- He could break wooden boards 6 inches (15 cm) thick.
- AND his striking speed from three feet with his hands down by his side reached five hundredths of a second.
I dont think a single person can claim to match his physical prowess or fighting ability.
