Ok. I don't think that BioWare would ever do this... but I've talked to a few people who liked the idea and I was wondering what the Escapist populace thought:

So if Bioware redid the graphics, maybe added some side-quests, and finished the ending of KOTOR II and released the two games in a single pack for 60$, would you buy it?

Everyone I've asked has said yes... and I would too, so thoughts?

They were certainly good games and I've lost my copies of them since. I'd definitely buy them again and if it were a remake with new content that'd only make it better

Or, you know, we get KotOR 3 instead?

Remakes are all well and good, but not when you haven't finished the fecking series.

KOTOR 2 was Obsidian, not BioWare.

Honestly, both games hold up very well still, I'd say they are fine the way the are. I'd rather have a KOTOR 3 than this MMO nonsense.

A fixed, finished, and updated version of KotOR II could end up being my favorite game ever, or at least among my favorites. But I don't know if they can. It was developed by Obsidian, but BioWare has the rights to The Old Republic franchise (I think). I don't know how that works out.

I really do want a Knights of the Old Republic 3, though.

I know (that might throw a wrench in the works). But the basic idea stands.

Graphically there is absolutely no need for it. The graphics are perfectly fine even today. Hell I think you could get another decade out of the graphics.

However, there is some justification for it. For the PC versions, it makes sense so as to get a copy that works without modifications running on vista/7 that doesnt crash every 10 minutes.

In the case of the console versions it would be nice to have a console version just bumped up to 1080 reso.

I would also say that the price, even for both games is a bit too high. I would say 30$ for both would be more appropriate.

Oh and add the content mod for 2 that makes the plot more cohesive.

So... Id rather see something like what is being done with SotC for PS3, and GoW 1&2 rather than a full graphical overhall. Yeah... if that were the case I would drop money on it again.

I don't think that BioWare could justify a 30$ price to EA when pitching the idea (keeping in mind that this is all in the hypothetical, naturally.)

1) I'd rather they focused on new, future games.

2) Eh, I don't know. But I would buy a re-done KOTOR2 where Obsidian got to implement all it wanted. I'd buy that faster than, well a lot of things.
