cause there are way to many dullards that actually believe they are 'better' then some one else cause of the platform they game on.
It's not even that really. It's whenever that debate of "which system is better" comes up, that this will rear it's head. This is hardly unique to PC gamers, they just came up with a funny sounding term for themselves, and console gamers haven't. If console gamers ever came up with a unified term for themselves, aside from just "console gamer", you can bet they would use it the same way people use PC Master Race, ironically and unironically. That's just how people are. Some people derive personal gratification from establishing themselves as being into "better" stuff than other people. My favorite superhero can beat up your favorite superhero, my sports team is better than your sports team, my country is better than your country, etc etc. And since both platforms have their pros and cons, that's always going to come up, because people will always ***** about the drawbacks of their own system, or ***** about the limitations of the other group's system. *shrugs* It's just how we are. Not everyone does it sure, but enough do it to keep the conversation alive on the internet.
For gamers though, since we play so many varied games, we can't easily do "My Dark Souls is better than your Dark Souls!"...because they're the same. So, all we can do is get into pissing contests over the system we use to play our various games on, because those are the only static things in the entire medium of gaming.
