Watched two episodes of it so far, I'll give it that I don't find it quite as bad as most other anime. The concept is interesting.
It still suffers from the, in my opinion, common flaw that characters don't seem to act in any way or form as consistent personalities but rather as plot devices. Their actions and decisions don't seem to stem from any internal reasoning but rather purely to move the story to whatever point the writer has planned next.
If the writer has planned a cool moment to finish off the episode a character will suddenly act all bad-ass out of nowhere. If the writer has planned a romantically awkward scene a character will suddenly act all shy and if the next scene calls for a different behavior to move the plot forward then they'll act like that. It seems all designed to take viewers from one artificial emotional high to the next.
