Poll: So... Space Marine or Dead Island... what to buy?

Save for Gears 3, unless you want either, in which case go with Dead island. You'd be getting a Gears of War clone, if you want Gears of war, go with the original series, not the Warhammer 40K edition.

By the way, I'm not the biggest fan of warhammer 40k, the concept is there for me to like, the execution fails. The helmets of the armor look cool but when I see power armor, I expect it to protect me while still allowing me to move, such as the MJOLNIR armor from Halo or the Nanosuit from Crysis, or even the Dead Space Engineer/Security/Advanced armor. Also, the whole Mideval warrior with tech thing is cool but the Elites from Halo pull that off in a much better fashion

Dead island is amazing. And as Terminate421 said, make sure you have the money for Gears 3. Dead island is the most realistic zombie game I have played.

Come on now, this isn't the place for fanboy rants...there is a perfectly good thread set up for that already (points to the space marine 'rip off' thread).

It seems a toss up between a broken game and a short game which isn't much of a choice at all. If your likely to play multiplayer then Space Marine seems the choice. I would wait until they patch the problems with dead island and pick it up a little cheaper to boot.

If its any consolation im stuck with the same choice aswell. I'm going for Space Marine

Ok first off, what do you expect a 7-8 foot tall super soldier to run with that kind of armor? Please tell me. This isn't armor that is light and easy to move in. This armor weighs a shit ton and durable. Second, not all space marines are the "Medieval" warriors. There are many different chapters to the lore. Lastly, ELITES ARE NOT KNIGHTS! They are more like Samurai type code then knights. Wanting death and honor in the battlefield above all else.

Given the chose between the two of them Space Marines, Dead Island was piss poor made for the PC.

The controls always felt like they lag behind what you was doing, connection issue up the ass and lag. A LOT OF IT(the people I tried with merely lived 7 km away from me and we are all on 24Mbit or better and we had someone drop out every 15 minute or so).

No option to turn press to duck/sprint into hold button to duck/sprint. The texture for the humans/zombies looks like barbie dolls[footnote]this didn't bother me to much but found it annoying if you compared it to the rest of the terrain[/footnote]. But what slowed down the gameplay the most was the inventory & weapon selection, I'm not sure how that is suppose to work smooth even on console either but it sure as hell just felt clunky for the PC and no fucking option to turn off vsynch.

While I still had fun with it I didn't have 50 euro worth of fun with it(more like 10).

TL;DR Buy space marine, dead island isn't worth it

I'm sorry, but is there some sort of time limit to your games? Does your Battle Royale collar go off if you don't complete the games before the designated time?

LOL, gotta love that response! I meant that if i started space marine/dead island before i finished assassins creed, i'd completly lose interest in creed! Alas though, i didnt finish it!

And to those who want to know the outcome - i bought..... Space marine! Good fun, though i cant imagine it lasting long! So the plan is to cain it in 10 days, return it for Dead island or Gears when it comes out, and borrow Deus Ex off my mate.
