The exclusives don't, but in that respect, the 360 doesn't have many good exclusives. The only ones that pop to mind are the more recent Halo games, and Crackdown 1&2. Gears and the like all get ported to PC.

I think people should be aware. I play Forza 3, Lost Odyssey and Trials HD quite a lot and I would miss them.
That's fair cop, Forza is pretty damned good, though Trials HD has many an equivalent on the PC platform.

Get a PS3. It's twice the price, but I promise you'll keep it twice as long.
They have the same price.
OT:personally my console is a ps2 but if I could I would get a ps3 just because it has free online and the exclusives seem allot more interesting.

Okay lets just say that everything you said was true excluding the PS3 being an overpriced DVD player. The PS3 is far cheaper online so within a year I would have not have spent so much money for the online features as I would with the Xbox 360, so the PS3 is actually cheaper. Almost every single Xbox 360 exclusive comes out on the computer and I have been PC gaming for about 2 or more years so I'm not worried about missing a game on the Xbox.

PS: The Xbox has better support? If you mean the online community than that is just shameful.
I really don't care if people prefer the PS3, they have good reasons, but...

The PS3 is not cheaper.
You don't have to play for Xbox Live if you don't want to.
The exclusives don't come out on PC.
The PS3 is cheaper than the Xbox if you want to go online, you can't really deny that. Paying $15 a month will very quickly accumulate to a higher amount of money spent than it paying nothing. Where I live I'm getting a preowned PS3 or Xbox and the preowned PS3 is only a tad bit more than it is to buy a brand new Xbox 360, so if someone bought that brand new Xbox 360 and went online for a month or two they would have already spent more money than I have.

You don't have to play Xbox live, yes. But from what I've heard Xbox has a lot of games that are meant to have a lot of online play and going online is what I think most game designers are intending you to do to make up for the single player e.g. Call of Duty.

Also a lot of games designed for the Xbox and not the PS3 do come out on the computer e.g. Saints Row 2
Gears of War
Dead Rising

There are also a bunch more that I'm not going to look for, there are a few that don't come out on PC but most of them do with the exception of the freaking Halo franchise.

Only if you get exactly the same memory size and there is much less reason to have such a large memory size on the 360 because you don't have to install games

PS3 has free online and a decent line up of exclusives, plus you don't have to deal with high-pitched children as much because very few people have mics. Some people might view that as a bad thing but I don't.

I have a PS3, and love it to death, I just cannot play it because I do not have a TV in my apartment (in res) and my father has turned my gaming area into a storage room I(with my stuff still set-up).

I've had my PS3 for years and still loving it. Great games, great graphics. Free online and blu-rays is just an excellent bonus

The PS3 has games, just no backwards compatability. I'll give that one to you. Now if you'll kindly stand, I would like to hand you your own ass. *ahem*

While the PS3 only plays PS3 games(unless you were lucky enough to get one of the first two waves), It does play blu-ray discs. Big whoop. Not a huge selling point, but one enough.

The online access is free. I say online access because not only do you get free multiplayer, but...

The PS3 has a browser. You don't need to install windows or linux on it to browse the internet at least. I use my browser all the time when I'm watching a movie or gaming. Of course...

Most of my movies are digital copies, and the nice thing about a PS3 is that it plays digital copies. You can rent movies online, if you so choose(I think it's netflix or one of their competetors. Anyway). You can install music and movies right to the harddrice and operate it like any computer would. Some of the codecs are a little buggy, but if you put in the effort anything eill work.

So the only real reason I see in getting an xbox is for the exclusives. If you want to play Halo, get an xbox. If you don't care about Halo, don't give it a second look. Get a PS3. It's twice the price, but I promise you'll keep it twice as long. And who knows, maybe someday they'll give us a downloadable emulator to bring back the backwards compatability.
Untrue. It is backwards compatible, only with PS games though. For example, I treated my little brother to a session of Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time for the PS when I unearthed it shortly after moving house, and that was only last week. I have also played MGS, Mortal Kombat Trilogy & ReLoaded on it.

Get both, lol.

Xbox needs a $15 dollar a month subscription to play online. The achievement system is better though.

PS3 has a blue-ray player, and good exclusives. Now they are not necessarily better then the Xbox360 exclusives, but I personally seemed to enjoy them more. In the case of RPG's most have gotten ported to the PS3, ala Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean the last hope, etc.

I have both systems, but even with all the good things I have said about the PS3 my Xbox still gets more use. However the PS3s exclusives make it worthwhile. This is considering that I don't play online, exept for the occasional co-op.

If you want single-player RPG's/Adventure go with PS3. If you want multiplayer Xbox360 is better but only if you have the money to spend on the monthly subscription.

No I can't get both, my family is helping my buy it because I'm thirteen and I don't get any form of allowance. So it would be extremely unfair and cruel to ask them to buy me both so I can only buy one. I'm leaning towards PS3 right now.

PS3 here, also a PC of course.

Having a lot of experience with 360 and PS3 I can personally recommend the PS3 above the 360. It's an all around better performing machine and it won't likely shit out on you like the 360 undoubtedly will.

What you get on XBL might be nice but nothing it provides is worth the money to me, everything you get from PSN is perfect and the price doesn't get better!

I own all four. They're all great for gaming, especially now that the Wii has games worth owning. You're good any way you go.

Got both an Xbox 360 and a PS3, and out of them both I love my PS3 way more.
The games are better(way more exclusives for PS3, at least more good ones), the fan is almost completly silent, compared to the 360's which sounds like an airplane, and I like the menu for PS3 more than the 360 one.

As a side note, I got my PS3 about a year ago and my 360 two years ago. Since I got my PS3 I have only played my 360 to play Mass Effect 1-2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I'm in love with my PS3, so I'd recommend it, but honestly, it's just personal preference.

I just don't like paying to use my own internet connection.

The poll is really wrongly frased. I primarily use the 360, because of friends, but the PS3 is the best console, easily. Why? EXCLUSIVES! Unless you're a halo or gears fanboy, get the PS3.
