Forum post 5555...

Mostly out of curiousity is all, and completely out of the blue random... Do you like Daft Punk? Do you listen often and how much? Whatcha' heard/seen from 'em? And...how many were actually first-intro'd to 'em via Tron?

Absolutely love them, and I consider myself more of a rock and roll type person.

Seriously ear candy:

I wasn't first introduced to Daft Punk from the Tron album however, my knowledge of their discography is limited to their singles.

I definitely enjoy the Tron Legacy album and at this very moment, am questioning why I haven't bothered to look them up further... Time to remedy that.

Some of the best electronic music I've ever heard. That doesn't say much, but still...

I Personally Adore them, despite being a avid Punk (i.e Circle Jerks, The Clash) Fan.
They kinda inspired me to become a musician.

If I remember correctly I was introduced to them by my teacher latin about three years ago, during a discussion on the olympic games that went slightly offtopic.

It was one kind of music I certainly didn't expect from somebody who retired the year after.

I bought Discovery when it came out back in 2001 and have been a fan ever since. At the moment I listen to them almost every day along with a variety of other house music/

Honestly? Their Tron soundtrack is the best thing of theirs I've heard, everything else I find to be meh.

I started listening to them after TRON Legacy, and now I'm listening to almost anything house/techno/DnB/electronic.

BTW: Try the TRON R3C0NF1GUR3D Remix Album

"We wanted ones like Daft Punk..."

I don't mind a little Daft Punk now and then. It's mostly nostalgia.

DAFT PUNK! YEEEAAAH! I have a box set of Interstellar 5555 and a few CD's of them. I love them.

Around the world, Around the world, Around the world, Around the world, Around the world, Around the world.

God, don't watch Daft Punk videos high. Such a very bad idea on my part. I screamed and locked myself in the closet when I watched Technologic high... Don't watch it when you do acid. That is pretty much asking to freak the frack out.

Rock.. Robot Rock... Rock... Robot Rock.

Yes. Alive 2007 is probably the best house mix ever put to recording equipment.

YES.

My favorite is "Prime Time Of Your Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife".

Sadly, I only have their disk "Human After All". I'd like to find another one somehow...

I usually stick to rock and classic rock, but I really like a lot of Daft Punk. Along the same lines, I also enjoy Apollo 440 and some Crystal Method. If you're in the mood for something mellower with a similar sound, try Boards of Canada.

I think they are way overrated. They have made a few okay songs, and the Tron soundtrack was good...
