I don't know why, it might just be this country, but soda in plastic bottles tastes worse.
Could be the heat or chemicals of the plastic bottle. Who knows.
It's not the country. Plastic bottles taste worse. Also, the screw caps let out fizz. That's why I'll also take cans over plastic.
Cans? I'm really rather suprised people think cans taste better than plastic bottles.
The only time I've ever tasted anything of significance was an extremely strong metallic taste from a canned drink.
Metallic tastes really aren't nice to have in your drinks.

Then again, I can taste the metal on a knife or a fork as well, which is also somewhat nasty. (though plastic cutlery is worse, so... Eh)

RC tends to be cheapest when I buy them in 12 packs, Boyland's tastes the best out of fountains, I have easy access to Mexican coke here in Arizona, and I only ever crave Crush (also only tend to drink Crush when the O's are playing, I'm the real reason for Davis' home runs) often enough to be a bottle and be satisfied for another month.

So basically, it's all good playa, and all this soda is totally not keeping me fat.

Soda is better in a glass bottle.

But since I react badly to ingesting large amounts of high fructose corn syrup, and soda that uses sugar instead mostly comes in glass bottles, 'tis a bit of a moot point.

(Don't get me started about aspartame.)

I already have a rather oversensitive sense of taste. I can taste soap on a utensil after it's been washed with water tons of times. Metal gives an after taste, but I can taste plastic much longer and the taste that it gives to beverages (water included) is a "stale" one, which is far more unpleasant to me.

Seems we're in a similar boat, but disagree with which is worse.

I prefer soda from boobs... :p

But seriously, I don't give a fuck where the soda comes from as long as it's delicious... Now, in terms of recycle money, that's a whole other story, I guess... Other than that, I have not tried soda from a pouch pack, so there's that... :p

Mmm. Oddly I don't mind plastic bottles, but plastic cups and utensils are horrible.

Most utensils are steel though, while cans are usually aluminium, which might be another reason.
To be fair, I don't usually taste it that strongly, but sometimes... Ugh.

I also really hate the touch of things. I dislike the original playstation controllers partly because the plastic they are made of creeps me out if I have to hold it for more than a few seconds...

It's kinda weird.
Though I guess that might be an autistic trait. >_>

But hey, all the taste and no calories! Just like bulimia! inb4 aspartame makes people fat just as well

Cans are better. Glass bottles are an unacceptable option as a .33 litre Coke in a glass bottle costs as much as 1.5 litres in a plastic one. Cans are more expensive too but not as much.

I'm confused, I didn't see an actual question in that OP. Is it about the most used soda container? Container you'd never want to consume soda from? About the preferred soda container when drinking? The preferred soda container when storing soda? Most practical soda container? Most common container? Most practical as a bludgeoning weapon? What?

The ideal preserving and drinking container is glass as it doesn't decay or deform under regular storing conditions. However the moment you empty that container it is a huge pain in the ass getting rid of, not to mention the most expensive one.
The other two are ok for practicality but it again comes back to how much wasted material/energy that makes, with the prices of material as high as they are you are currently paying more for the damn container then the contents and at the end you can't do anything but throw it away.

I say we need a better way of getting this shit done.

Another clumsy drinker here voting for plastic. I knock my bottles over way too often to go for glass. Plus it's cheaper and I'm on a budget, yo.

Also plastic are the least cold when you have to hold your drink outside. I freeze my hands off with glass or cans when I hold them for ages. :C

Yeah, glass bottles make for the best soda-containment devices. Give me a Sioux City Sarsaparilla any day before even bothering to open a can of A&W or Bargs...Sadly most of my favorite sodas don't come in glass bottles so I rarely get to drink from them...oh well...

Glass bottle. Plastic bottles feel more artificial, and are so sealed that the soda inside them is usually way too sparkling initially. Cans are okay, but a bit awkward ergonomy wise. Glass bottles have the edge on either alternative on both those terms, and there's something appealingly "old school" in them.

Glass. But just about EVERYTHING is better in glass. Or is better being pressed up against glass.

But... that's a topic for one of your 'other' threads.
Tell me more about what looks good pressed up against glass...
Well, cats are always cute when pressed against glass.

As are dogs.

Snows not great though.

And you can always make a funny face with glass.

Hmm... what else...
