I'd have to say that there are probably going to be some really bad riots.

Oh crap. Considering how we gotta fight our way through intense blizzards, polar bears, and mass amounts of beavers just to get to work or school in the morning, then repeating the process to get home, this will not end well..... Well, for somebody who isnt canadian that is. Us Canadians should at least have a decent chance.

Did I mention we go uphill both ways?
I have a feeling that us Canucks are going to thrive if we survive this. Don't worry Americans, we'll mourn you as we're bashing in zombie heads with out snow shovels.

Honestly, whenever people do this BS, it only makes people less likely to listen to the point they're trying to make.

Don't forget sidewalk scrapers, those things are deadly.

No kidding. We should also get to work on that Polar Bear cavalry. After all, what's more scary than a Canadian riding on the back of a polar bear whilst brandishing a sidewalk scraper?

Quite frankly, I'm surprised there is any rioting that doesn't have to do with the world cup.

As for what I think will happen, absolutely nothing. Half of my relatives live in Canada so I visit a lot, and based on the people I talk to, tomorrow everyone is say sorry and go back to their everyday lives.

Watching CTV in my living room at the moment.

Is it just me, or has our city turned to absolute hell?

Wow this is beyond stupid. The protestors are upset because of the police presence and they respond by proving that we need cops downtown.

Fuckin' "anarchists".

What are they even protesting about? What do they hope to achieve by smashing things, damaging property and generally being disorderly?

They deserve whatever police retaliation they get.

They're protesting the security cost of the summit. Ironically, if the government didn't spend so much on security there wouldn't have been any riots/protests.

Some are claiming, and even claimed weeks before the summit, the police were sure to use provocateurs at the summit to justify the enormous costs. Situated at around 1 billion dollars there are several stinky things the Harper administration has pulled off for this conference. To put it in perspective, the G20 summit in England cost 30 million for security.

The downtown CORE of the city has erected 25 foot chain-link fences and has riot police and other law enforcement officers called in from all over the country. These fences were up long before the summit took place. The city also installed 74 additional cameras, long before the summit took place (all to be removed after). If you walk down there, you feel like a cow. The sidewalks are literally these two fences on each sides and it's been hell on the city and businesses who were forced to shut down in a several block radius around the summit building. Hell, you could get arrested just for walking near the damn place.

Furthermore, the city of Toronto pleaded the government to hold the summit AWAY from the downtown core, and instead host it at a more remote but equally luxurious location. The government, for no specified reason, declined and insisted it be in the downtown core. Why? We are mad because one billion dollars of our own money has been wasted during a fucking recession to put the city in total police state lockdown for a conference that accomplishes absolutely nothing except giving the world some false illusion that these 20 countries actually work together.

Maybe next time they should just do a conference call.
