I actually like both the 3D and 2D Sonic games. I don't care what anyone says. Adventure and Adventure 2: Battle were great.

I have a bit of a fondness for Tails. Mostly because of this article Yahtzee wrote after moving to Australia but before Zero Punctuation about how he idolizes and yet is mistreated by Sonic. It's the closest I've come to caring about an actual Sonic character, rather than their gameplay applications.

I've always liked Shadow. He actually makes me intrigued and emotionally connected to him since he's been through a lot and he doesn't really even know who he is. He's actually kind of deep.... When not shooting someone.TheLastTatlFan said:

I quite liked it actually. It was a fun game and it was also fun with it's multiplayer (surprisingly). I have fond memories of that game.Mr. Omega said:

I'm currently playing the Sonic Classic Collection on my DS (The Megadrive games, 1,2,3 + Knuckles, as well as the lock on capability, i.e., being able to play Sonic 2+3 with Knuckles).
The story of 3 and Knuckles are particularly my favourite, because the story is told through what you see and do, not through terrible character archetypes with annoying voices.

I think in Sonic Three when you could have Tails constantly fly you around and he'd look so worn out after a few seconds. XDDDDSageRuffin said:

The problem has largely been that Sonic Team haven't had the balls to stick to one playstyle and really finely tune it to perform as well as it can, usually because the playstyle people say they want from Sonic (lolrunfaster) will inevitably lead to a really short game. Unleashed had those god of war clone levels (which I actually thought were quite a good god of war clone to be honest) because if the game had only been made of the daytime levels it would have been over in a couple of hours flat and people would qq that it was too short.

I'm of the opinion that they should have stopped making characters after Sonic CD. After that, the series had a hero, a villain, a sidekick, a rival, a girl and a robotic clone of the main character. You do not need more characters than that.
Im aware of the fact that correlation/=causation, but i did say that it was my opinion that the games have gotten more sucky, with the inclusion of ever more sucky characters. (with those characters making up just one part of the suck)GloatingSwine said:

I didnt play unleashed so i cant really say about that, but if they made it a GoW clone, well at least thats something.
