It's better than FF13, that's for sure. However, that being said FF13 was a pretty boring game to me.
13-2 is still generally linear, but it feels a lot less linear so that's good. It's pretty looking, I like the music and I never really minded the FF 13 combat, 13-2 tweaks it. My main issue with the game is the same as 13 (and many of the modern FF games). The voice acting is bad, the story is pretty convoluted and the characters are larely unlikeable.
No one acts human. Noel gets sent back through time on a fucking magic space asteroid from a city where dead people go at the end of time and he has no questions about anything at all. He doesn't ask anyone about where he is or what's going on. No one would just take this all in stride.
This is, of course, a subjective thing but the characters in 13 and 13-2 get on my nerves so much it overshadows everything else in the game for me.
