There's actually a name for this... which I can't seem to recall... "power of suggestion" works, but there's something more specific... sort of like when someone mentions fleas, and all of a sudden you itch.

There was that really shitty movie made about it... and... I don't remember the title.

Edit: the movie was called.... uh... maybe it's a spoiler...

yeah, there's a sympathetic thing you get from movies. I think it's akin to getting queasy when you see someone else throw up, or how yawns are contagious.

Occasionally, but then again certain hypnotists (real professionals, not entertainers) can make a person's skin react as if it has just been burnt, while the person is concious. The mind is easy to warp if a person knows what they are doing and how to get into your head. A good trait for horror book writers.

If i see someones leg snap violently i feel a gripping sensation in my leg. Only sometimes though. If i see a movie with a zombie biting a neck open i don;t feel jack in my neck but if its a bone breaking that area has a gripping sensation as if it were bracing FOR said encounter.

It only happens if I'm super immersed in the film/game. Like in Half Life 2 when... eh it's a spoiler

I hate it with Rain in games when I get really immersed, because I feel like I'm getting wet, and I hate getting my clothes wet lol

I believe the term you're looking for is mass hysteria.

Yes, this is a really thing, and it happens because of our "mirror neurons." This is science, this is fact.

This dude is an expert on them:

Incredibly interesting, definitely recommend anyone to watch it that wants to know how it all works.

No. I've never even HEARD of that ever happening until now. Although sometimes the time of day/weather in games gets in my head, and I start subconsciously thinking like it's that time of day/weather in reality.

I guess that's KIND OF the same thing.

It's basically just a reaction to seeing things. Varies from person to person.

Kind of an empathic reaction, I suppose you could say.

I'll sometimes get it in a game if I'm really immersed, like in red dead redemption, I felt cold when it rained once and cane out of my house to feel the baking hot Mexican sun on my arms.

No man can watch another take a bad enough shot in the jimmies and not keel over or rush to protect his own. I had a science teacher who was also a skater. He would show us some wipe out videos sometimes. Poor bastards hitting rails at high speeds and sliding down for a flight, that sorta thing. No guy in that room did not feel their pain. And women often say that men lack empathy.

Yeah this happens to me too. Similar to when it is raining in a video game and I start to assume it is raining in real life. It only happens when I am completely immersed though.
