Yes to Dawn Of War, Yes to 40k tabletop and hobby in general

No, I don't tend to speak orky at all. Orks never really appealed to me. Tabletop wise and DoW. I much preferred playing Imperial Guard and Tau, for both by the way

I don't do Warhammer 40K, I prefer my very own crack cocaine.
I have no bloody idea what you're talking about, good luck with having a spouse that'll not throw you out for using "Orky".

This thread seems very pointless.
Yes, I'm a fairly large fan of WH40k and I've played Dawn of War.

Orks suck though.

don't really like orks either, I like Chaos Space Marines and Dark Eldar
(I have Dawn of War Complete, nothing else though)

the orks, well I just foud the way they talk to be hilarious, so I was looking for a sound board and found a CRAP TON of people posting things in "orky"

So I figured I'd ask lol

Read the above lol

...and I feel I should have added "Tried to learn but gave up" and "trying to learn" as options...

I haven't played the table top game, is it any good? cause our RP center down here has a ton of stuff for it, heck their commercial consists of Magic the Gathering, DC comics, D&D, and has the Ork Warboss from Dawn of War all in it lol

EDIT: Oh, I did play Heroscape for awhile and really RALLY enjoyed that (but found a lacking amount of people willing to play and the set up time a tad over-the-top)

If you can find a group of people that enjoy the hobby then yes, it can be loads of fun. Unfortunately the closest hobby centre to me, a normal Games Workshop (The company that makes makes warhammer) was a good 20 - 25 min drive away and I had to rely on my parents for transport, and they wern't overly fond of my hobby, it was pretty darn expensive. So I used to stick to the model making and painting side of the hobby, which I still enjoyed. In the end though, girlfriend, getting more into music and guitars and xbox meant a hobby had to go and sadly warhammer had to go, maybe in the future once i've got some spare cash and more free time I may go back to it. It's a hobby you can spend many many hours on

Yeah... I ended up yelling a TF2 match "All right, boyz, 'ere's da plan: Win. And if we lose, it's your fault... 'cause you didn't follow da plan!"

They all started laughing

Yeah I don't think I would find many people... and considering I'm kinda poor, I think I'll just buy WH4K DoW II on steam for $20, rather hen shelling out $100 for a starter kit...

an make your own models though? that part really interests me lol

as for me I play Xbox a bit, but my closer friends have brought it to my attention that I don't seem to enjoy videogames like I used to, that seem unexcited and unchallenged, and I go into a robotic slump, kill lots of people or AI, then walk away board... they then mentioned that I play piano really well (I think I suck) and said that I have a gift for poetry
*shrugs* ...funny how a girl found a poem I wrote and bugged me for weeks on end asking me who the author was then when she found out she had me post it on DA

In short, with Warhammer and model making in general, you get what you put into it. You put in a little work, little reward. Spend hours and hours painting a single model to perfection, you'll have created not just a model but a piece of art. And looking at a finished piece of art is a great feeling for an artist.

Time and dedication ( and lots and lots of practice - Not my model by the way)

If you ever find yourself taking 40K too seriously, just remind yourself that the entire Ork race started off as a parody of english soccer hooligans.

'Ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go...

In answer to your first question, I own and have beaten every Dawn of War game (they are awesome). I also play tabletop WH40K, I own two large armies (one of them a custom army with fully-fleshed back story, force organization chart, and custom characters), and am right now in the process of putting together a squad of Grey Knight Terminators. That should tell you how much of a grimdark fan I am.

As for speaking Orky, whenever it's pragmatic, appropriate, or funny.

I have no clue what those greenskinns are talking about, but they sure taste funky. But hey, I should not complain, there are tons of them everywhere and at least they don't throw silly prayers your way while you chop them into mouth-sized bits...

Cheers.

Yes, of course, I have played 'Dawn of War', what kind of philistine do you take me for?!

However, certainly not, sir! I do not speak... Orkish. How unrefined can you be?!

(Yeah, guess what race I play...)
