In life, as well as many games there often comes a choice: Be really damn good at something, or be moderately good at several things. What do you pick?

Well in my case, it's a matter of being really good at everything.
God damn, I'm awesome.

I pick specialization.

That way I can spend it all on "succeeding at life"

Versatility. I'd rather have expeirence in all manner of things, then be SOL in all things except one skill.

well, considering I am specialised in circus skills, I guess I'd have to go with that...

that said, I'm versatile in many different juggling methods :p

i'd rather have specialization.

imagin a world with moderate food, moderate houses, moderate everything.
now if we have specialization we'd have awesome stuff!

Creatures that specialise fail, diversity wins the evolution wars. As for me personally? I suppose I'm pretty good at gaming, drawing, writing etc. I'd rather be pretty good at a few things than be really good at just one. E.g. Doctor House, brilliant diagnostician, but terrible at life.

I'm pretty good at lots of things.
I can write, draw, sing, impersonate voices, I seem to be able to pick up and learn some musical instruments rather easily, etc.

But the problem is being good at all those things means I don't have enough skill/commitment to any one of them, the result being that I can't seem to improve in any area to an extent where I could become an author/artist/actor/etc.

I say versatility because let's say for sake of example your a professional sports player and that's all you specialize in. You permanently break your leg. What would you do?

This way I have a fallback in case what I specialize in fails :D.

As I don't know what situations may be in store for me in the future (whether it be a video game or in real life) I always prefer to have lots of versatility so I can adapt to the situation moderately well.

I suppose it depends at what I can choose from. If my options are "Make an apple pie, tap-dance, or be able to shoot a fly from ten miles away", then I think I'm going to specialize in shooting. I usually choose versatility, though, seeing as the choices are never that obvious.
