I think its about time we stopped being afraid of the Black Heart of Humanity, and gave Child And Baby Necromorphs in my space-marine game the Equality they totally deserve.

In all seriousness, i like the fact it incorporates them into the game, and encourage their continued standard of Horror Game Design.

If demonic/zombie/alien infected babies were coming at me in real life, I would shoot them and I think I would be in the right for doing it. Still, there would be those that would cry 'baby murder'. Damn demon/zombie/alien huggers.

As some people said before Dead Space 2 is supposed to be disturbing. What better way to add shock then to make you shoot little children?

No, its realistic that if such an event occured, babies would be just as susceptible as anyone else. It was done to add to the setting. Plus, nothing really offends me.

Psh you think that is offensive? Go play FEAR 2, now that is a giant holysh*t part of gaming history.
You, the player, get raped by a dead woman and she has your child.
Seriously, I don't know how the heck I can't play FEAR at all........ I have no problems playing Dead Space 1-2, but FEAR xD I get this paranoid feeling that makes me not play it, hehe

IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DISTURBING.

If this were a movie, it'd be praised for it's emotional depth and shit.
No it wouldn't it would be called a child corrupting peice of shit then frowned upon by parents just like with Saw and The Human Catepide.

Thats sounds familliar...oh yeah i guess shooting babies is wrong both in film, game and i guess all types of media >.<

Pardon any error, for I haven't played it, but aren't they mutated, rabid, undead, alien babies that are trying to rip out your brains?.

That kind of negates the whole point of not wanting to kill kids anyway. They're not innocent, they're not defenseless, and they don't have much to look forward to.

If not, I'll use the same argument I used with MW2. A depiction of something doesn't equal support of said thing. Ignoring and denying these things won't make them go away, we have to learn to deal with them, and one of humanities biggest coping mechanisms is art.

If it is having you kill babies just for shits and giggles, then no intellectual or sane human being will take it seriously, so it's not that big deal...

In games, the rules on whats sacred seems to change alot. I say, either everything Ok or nothing is. Also, those children arnt human anymore, There DNA has been warped.

Maybe it just isn't the right game for you, and no one would blame you for only playing non "horror" games

I see little controversy to some of the infected once being children. It only adds to make the game world more "realistic" (by its own premises) and to the sense of horror the game is going for.

There are no holy cows content-wise. If the game gives fair warning (by rating, marketing, reviews etc.), then it's up to the individual consumer to set his/her own line. Buyer beware.

I hate playing games when a child pisses you off and you want so badly to kill the little shit. This game actually ALLOWS me to kill children. Kudos to the devs.

No, they are asking you to go through a nursery and kill monsters that were once babies, before the evil villains fucked everything up. The evil villains are evil and fucked up after all; they don?t have sensibilities such as leaving the children alone because they are children. But really shooting them doesn?t bother me simply because a picture of a pipe is not actually a pipe.

Also taking a safe place and making it totally not safe is a classic horror technique. It disturbed you. Jobs a good un. Although horror and disgusting things do seem to stray into comedy sometimes, I think it?s hilarious where you explode the bodies with your foot to get stuff like from them. Over the top hilarity.

my opinion is that games are a media type.

books/movies/radio are also media types, i dont see anyone complaining today about the content of books crossing any moral boundaries.

i've no worries walking thorugh a airport hosing civilians, (i didn't buy medal of honour, merely becuase i have friends in afghan then and now, so it felt like a betrayal) and ill happily walk around hosing aliens, mercenaries, hell collateral damage in prototype didn't bother me a bit.

but surely im not the only one to think: isn't a nursey sacred? babies: sacred? i know they are trying to instill a horror at the grotesque nature of the act (they're suceeding) but... really? a nursery? lullabys in the back ground?
You do know that the people in Afghan helped make the game, right?

It's a game, in resistance you entered a church and killed aliens, in a resident evil game you walk through a grave yard (if I remember right).

Your not actually killing babies or young children, your playing a game.

No they didn?t go too far its supposed to be a gory horror game that picks on the things that most people in society see as disturbing and wrong.

Personally I do not find dead space or any other horror game scary as long as I have a weapon and I always remember its a game (the graphic aren?t good enough to trick me) so I don?t find it dusting thus I always pick the hardest difficulty option available and treat it as a pure survival game.
