There will be no ending where the Reapers "win". But I also can't see them being completely destroyed, barring an idiotic Independence-Dayesque computer virus scenario.

I'm also sure there will at least be the possibility of Shepard dying, but there damn well better be the option of saving him/her. If a Shepard death is mandatory, I'll be pissed.

As has been mentioned above, I'm a little disturbed by the apparent nerfing of the Reapers. In the first game, it was heavily implied if not outright stated that they were basically an unstoppable force. There's a ridiculous number of them, and they're ridiculously hard to kill, and they routinely wipe out all life in the galaxy. Now all of a sudden they're having trouble wiping out one little planet?

At first I figured some mcguffin would allow Shepherd to force the reapers back into the deep space forever, but then I read the poll. Now I just want to see Shepherd personally fist fight the entire reaper fleet in space, because that would be the most epic ending ever.

Well for a long time they have depended on thier citadel plan to carry them through. This failed so they are flailing. That's why they are coming after humans so hard becuase they think we are somthing special and want our genetic material to 'reproduce'(yuk). When in fact we aren't really we just know how to use teamwork. Shepard crew high five! (or whatever the hell number of fingers everyone has) I'm guessing if the Prothean base on Ilos hadn't survived everyone would have been blasted to hell by now.

Hopefully any of these, depending on your choices throughout the games.

Personally, I'm hoping for Garrus to snipe every last one of them. He has reach...
But the Commander has flexibility!

OT: I'm personally hoping for the "Shepard single-handedly fights all the Reapers with just his fists... In space... For science!" Just for shits and giggles.

No seriously, I'm hoping humanity wins but only barely. It would come off as far too corny if Shepard easily beats them or if Bioware pulls out some kind of stupid deus ex machina to finish them off ala H.G. Wells' "War of the worlds" (Although that was a fine ending for THAT particular story.) I'm definately hoping for a final battle like ME2 where people can die depending on your actions.

Bloody Harbinger, I'll asume direct control of him. In fact I'll direct this personally...

Well, well, here we go again.
1. I are not saying they are invincible. Never did, will never do. If you actual read what I wrote. Your the only one saying that. I just point out, how much effort "the good side" need to put into destroying one Reaper, when it was walking over the entire human fleet while doing something else. And then raising the doubt in which it will be possible to stop several 100 Reapers at once.

2. Okay, but that statement are flawed in itself. It is a paradox, which you fail to understand. If something are impossible, but then are done, are it still impossible, even it did just happen?.
And saying that human evolution in the time it has happen are impossible, are somewhat flawed, since it has already been proven wrong since it has happen. Accept it or denied it. It will just show what ever you are a person who can be reason with or live in you own universe of truth.

3. You don't get it, and I cut it out for you. I will just let it lay, if I was you.

4. Did you even read the whole thing I wrote? If not, try doing so, I already covered this and are not going to repeat myself, like you are doing.

5. Again, what are you referring to? You seem to think that they have no plan, when they actual have a pretty damn good one, as I cut out for you once, try and read the whole thing, I wrote, again.

6. ... ohh you skipped that one, continue.

7. The one central thing you fail to understand are that without the Citadel, there are no travel between star system and there are no communication between star systems.
If the Reapers plan went down as it should according to their plan, then Keepers on the Citadel would do what they where supposed to do, activate it as a relay for the Reapers, which would jump straight in and close down all travel and communication down between all the star systems. No system would know what happen before it was on them.
Now I aren't to astrophysics, but the distance to the closes star system from us, are 4,2 light year. Now lets say The Reapers attacked and closed down the mass relays for anything that them self. Then send a radio signal for help, which travels at the speed of light, just under 300.000 Km/sec. Then that call for help, won't be in the closest system for 4,2 years.

The smart thing about attacking the Citadel, as I actual has said several times now, are that they can with one, rather easy, attack, cripple and close down everything their opponent has of travel and communication.

If they close everything down, then can simply pick them off in small chunks, since their fleets are scattered all over their sectors. The only rather complete fleet they need to attack at once, are the Quarians.

8: Can you link that Q&A would like to read it. For me, that just sound like a plot hole, and then there is nothing to do about it.

9: Erm, I try again, She knows most of everything there happen in those areas she has agents in. She do not have agents in Dark Space. And depending on who the Reapers proceed when entering a system, (as mention above) most information will most likely not leave the system since it will be cut off.

I'm surprised to see/hear how stubborn you are about some of those basic things, you just either fail to understand or completely ignore. But at least, you are not 100% lost.

You discover that you are a distance relative of Chuck Norris and then continue to challenge the entire Reaper fleet and roundhouse kick them to death, by yourself... Blindfolded!

Personal, as I may have hinted by now. I would love to see a good side loose, in some way. by the way they have build up the Reapers, then we are getting very close to some stupid plot hole to pull that "good side close but sure" win off. They have just build them to powerful.

Being a distant relative of Chuck Norris involves adopting a redneck, hick, creationist, bigoted attitude towards life and despite being a world-class Douche of John-Edwards calibre becoming an old internet meme.

Mass Effect 3 should end the same way it began.

No expectations, but pleasantly pleasing.

Losing to the reapers would pretty obnoxious considering the fact that you spent 3 damned games trying to beat them. I say barely destory them in the end but the cost of the victory should depend on your choices thoughout the games. That way the game has closure and doesn't annoy the player.

Since all intentions of mine to finish ME3 have been put to bed quite thoroughly, I would like to put forward my ideas and initial thoughts on concepts in the game.

1) The Little kid Shep sees at the beginning playing with the shuttle? Not real. Keep the dream sequences as they are, but have light audio playing in the background of a woman's voice calling Shepard's name.

2) Have the characters voice their concern about winning this fight more often. Shepard is supposed to be rallying these races together, and Shep's 'We have to try' mentality is weak. Shep needs to be more assertive and confident.

3) Shepard's dreams should be noticed by other characters ie they notice Shep isn't sleeping as well. Shep voices that it was like nightmares Shep got as a child. This leds Joker to make a joke that Shep wasn't made of clay and brought to life. EDI locates a picture of Shep as a young child. Looks awfully familiar to the player.

4) As Shep rallies more forces to this cause, it is noticed Shep's mood is becoming slightly erratic. Once you get the 'big weapon' completed, Shep should collapse into another dream, but it is here that the voice calling out to Shep is louder. As Shep follows it and the child, Shep realizes that the child is Young Shep. As Shep wakes up, Shep can hear another voice for a moment before Dr. Chakwas asks is Shep is okay. Shep waves it off and carries on duty despite Dr. Chakwas objections.

5) When Shep visits the 'big weapon' Shep can hear woman's voice again. As Shep gets to the central core, he sees a hallucination of the child in front of him. The child explains that the design was of the first Reapers, and it sought out a mind it could as its AI. It chose SHep due to the energy signature from the Prothean Beacon and the other indoctrination effects on Shep's mind. This is when Shep can choose to unleash this weapon against the Reapers to destroy them. Game DOES NOT end here.

6) When SHep goes to the Citadel, it is quiet on approach. Unable to dock Shep goes aboard in a shuttle and sees people locked inside rooms. The one thing immediately noticed is the abundance of Keepers around. The VI guide cannot be seen at any of her consoles. Shep ventures through and is led to a large chamber where it is thought the Keepers go to die. Shep sees a larger Keeper who is plugged into the Citadel. This King Keeper is the one who controls the hive mind of the Keepers. He makes reference to the scanning (if that was done in ME1) and explains that his race was an ancient race of indentured slaves. While technologically intelligent, they were not permitted an technology of their own, but over decades they were able to build the first Reaper, which had the indoctrination effect. The Reaper was able to exterminate the Keeper's masters and coerced them into making larger Reapers. Eventually, with the Reapers were able to exterminate all other advanced races back to a pre-space age level of technology. The King Keeper explains that the Reapers act as a self-defence mechanism, when the Keepers get dominated or every 50,000 years, they defeat the 'evil rulers'. Shep asks why are you telling me this. King Keeper advises that out of all thecycles, he is the only one who wanted to keep peace throughout the Galaxy (if Paragon) or was getting the other races to work together (if Renegade) to save all lives and not just their own race. Because of this, the King Keeper feels that the galaxy has grown enough to keep advancing past this extinction point. He offers to point out all weak points of the Reapers and will give the Allied forces the specs to tweak their ships to be able to destroy the reapers.

7) Illusive Man arrives with commandos and interrupts the meeting. Fight vs Illusie man = Final Boss. Death means Reapers overpower Illusive Man before he can 'control' them as he being indoctrinated. Reapers win, Cycle to repeat in 50,000 years.

Ending a) With the Keepers info, and big weapon, the Allies are able to exterminate all the Reapers without huge losses. At end of fight, Shep collapses (dead) and the 'Alpha Reaper' leaves known space.

Ending b) With the Keepers info, the Allies are able to beat back the Reapers but losses are significant.

Ending c) Without the info or big weapon, Reapers dominate galaxy and then leave.

Ending cinematic: This shows the outcome of the decisions made in regards to genophage, Rachni, Geth/Quarian peace. Cerberus crumbles. If any Reapers survive, they voice one word "Soon..."

If alive, Shep narrates the ending movie. If not, it is shared between Joker, Garrus and EDI (plus any other survivors)

Should depend how you play the game. If your EMS is high the good guys win and live happily ever after. If the EMS is mid range everyone dies but the combined fleet manages to damage the reapers enough that a future cycle manages to finish them off with the help of Liara's data thing. If your EMS is too low you get roflstomped and the Reapers continue the cycle of pillaging and rapeing forever.

Furthermore, I would change what the Crucible does. I would keep it as a weapon but not make it destroy all the Reapers. I would make it weaken them. Mess up their targeting, weaken their death rays, slow them down, that sort of thing. That way the above mentioned scenarios work out better. If you manage to get a massive fleet they are able to beat the now weakened Reapers. If your fleet is too small the Reapers are still able to over come it.

make it less bleak for starters, if i want grimdark despair i'll either watch the news or play warhammer 40K, note that this does not mean make it all rainbows and sunshine, fistbumping and galactic alliance..FUCK YEAH!!

have shepard survive by the skin of his teeth after taking down harbinger, wakes up two weeks after the battle in a field hospital/normandy's medbay with his/her love interest next to them (and in the case male shepard, have garrus there too plus a smartass quip from shepard about how he's certain he can't be dead because garrus is too ugly to be allowed into heaven) gets told about what happened after harbinger's destruction, then after limping out of the medbay/field hospital shepard and co. decide to unwind the only that is possible at that moment by playing poker in a 'life goes on' moment

I want multiple endings:

-Reapers win
-Humans and Alien races hold/destroy the Reapers, but Shepard dies. (My vote)
-Human and Alien races destroy the Reapers, but just barely
-Humans and Alien race barely fend off the Reapers, who retreat back to Deep Space

The game should have variations of these 4.
